Russia's "war economy" can work for a short period of time, but is not sustainable in the long term. Eventually the increased taxation, declining oil and gas revenue, printing of money, robbing of social benefit funds, and decreased trade will catch up with Russia and its government war expenditures causing a fracture in government budgeting with an associated economic fallout.

So can't deny the budget figures and information contained in the article. There are many other sources showing the demise of Russia's economy -- many of them found in this thread.

Here is the Catch-22 for the Russian Banker -- if you don't reveal you payment methods then counter parties outside of Russia could never send/receive payments. When you do reveal the payment methods then sanctions can readily shut down the transactions. Oh, poor Vlad is going broke. So SAD.

Here is a solution - Get the f@ck out of Ukraine and the sanctions will stop.

Imagine what $38/bbl oil and the lifting of all the EPA bs on new LNG processing facilities would do to Vlad.

Or... we could joust with more windmills. And solar farms. If we want the war to go on for another 20 years.
