The Demolition of Russia's Economy

All time low unemployment is pretty easy to achieve when every man with a pulse between 17 and 40 is unwillingly conscripted to go die on the Eastern front.

Regarding affluence.... I have a feeling that if Trump gets elected, he tells Putin to back the f down or Jared pays a call to his buddies in Saudi.... and the spigot gets wide assed opened.... and oil drops below $35/bbl. :wtf:

President Donald Trump probably, can work with Russia better because he is not a money hungry war monger. On the oil price, it was Putin who started the oil supply cuts because of the oil price caps NATO imposed on Russian oil. OPEC followed suit. Oil producers are all tied to the hip. They all want higher oil prices and cutting the oil supply will just do that. Ukraine helping drive oil prices higher by attacking Russian oil facilities. That is also, the same reason the US is telling Ukraine to not attack Russian oil facilities. Russia can sell less oil and still make more monies because of the higher oil prices. All the Ukrainian attacks on Russian facilities is doing is drive oil prices higher for Europe and the US. US is importing oil now, courtesy of Joe Biden. US oil production has gone down under Joe Biden.

Ukraine has been attacking refineries. This has driven up the prices of refined products such as gasoline and diesel within Russia while also causing shortages of refined fuel products. It has not changed the amount of oil available for internal use by Russia and export by Russia whatsoever.

According to Kremlin news outlet Russia Today the economic growth has hit 5.4%. No respected economic evaluation entity outside of Russia supports this claim and all have pointed out that Russian economic figures cannot be trusted. Next time use a real news source. Obviously you know your source sucks so bad that you don’t provide the url in plain text.

even if true ...

5.4 % - based on war

- perspective ?

I will agree that military spending pushes Russian economic growth up. However the official statistics coming out of Russia cannot be trusted -- as outlined many times previously. Russia is less than transparent with economic information.

Let's catch up with the latest Russian measure -- where they will forcefully round up laborers and ship them to other regions of the country. Government gangs detaining people in Russia is no longer just for conscription. We know what "consent" is in Russia.

* Russia is currently experiencing a labour shortage that is becoming a significant problem in some sectors. According to estimates by the independent Russian media outlet Izvestia Russia had a 4.8 million shortage of workers in 2023. As an example, the Russian transport and logistics industry was unable to fill 25% of its truck driver vacancies during 2023.

* The labour shortage has at least in part been caused by Russia's war in Ukraine, which has led to mobilisation of parts of the working population and emigration by some skilled professionals seeking to avoid the call-up. More recently, the labour shortage has been exacerbated by restrictions on migrant employment implemented following the 22 March 2024 ISIS-K terrorist incident in Moscow.

* As a result of the labour shortages, a group of Russian parliamentarians are looking at possible amendments to the Russian labour code. If enacted, it would mean that excess labour force could be moved under state supervision to a place of work which lacks sufficient labour. The moves will be temporary and workers will only be transferred with their consent. However, although not coercive, it is a potential move towards the mobilisation of labour.

Labor shortages are a sign of a strong economy.
