The Demolition of Russia's Economy

So between the fall of the Soviet Union in 1990 and the war in Ukraine in 2022, Russia has not built one single tank. If that is your view, well, fascinating.
Which part of "anymore" was unclear? The Russian tank factory stopped production a month ago. No new tanks and no tanks being repaired. Due to sanctions. Because the machinery that produces tanks is Western, and so are some parts.

T-14 cannot be built anymore. The tank factory has stopped production and repairs because of the sanctions. I think they had less than 10 built before the sanctions. Maybe they will have a couple for the parade.

I heard a few more but not many, in any case this is going to give India the shits. I remember watching this video with a mechanic in Romania idly considering ways to block the engine air intakes of T80s. Poor fat little grey haired man in it was saying something like how can Pakistan deploy their tactical nuclear weapons at night!? With the T90s we can attack at night! Hahaha.

China is loving this, they get to see the strengths and weaknesses of NATO's toys.

"I think they had less than 10 built before the sanctions..."

What you are intimating is that they have built less than 10 of those tanks in the 30+ years since the fall of the Iron Curtain...?

T14 is newer than the T90 Overnight, they jumped back in model number.

They had less than 10 T-14s built. "Armata" tanks. Supposedly the latest model. You have a problem with reading comprehension.

As everything in Russia, it was ballyhooed, overpromised and underdelivered. As in - completely. Not one Armata has been seen in Ukraine. They "planned" to have 2,300 T-14s built before 2020. So far today - they have maybe a dozen or so. I have seen the number 9 mentioned. And no new ones will be built since Uralvagonzavod - the Russian tank factory - has stopped production and sent all workers home. "Vacation".

Ahh. Those darn Russians. They should have built them on a Lada frame. Cheaper and stronger!

I wound my kid up when she was asking for her first car by printing off ads for the Lada Niva 4x4 (not Riva). There was a 1984 in an orange cream.

1984? Why not go for the Yugo? Certainly it was a bit cheaper, yes?

It had to be believable :) the pages were on my desk a full week, she only ran into my trap a day before she left for college and the day before her 2nd gen Cayanne was delivered there. Well it had a good Euro Ncap safety.. The Lada Niva you might have been cushioned by the rust a bit.
