The death of Microsoft

Quote from prt_systems:

...Especially if you had to program it on punch cards ......

I've been lucky enough to come to computers with the first 5.25" disks...actually the first I used was using a beautiful tape recorder...

Quote from nononsense:

Can't blame you.
Up till almost today, many things couldn't be done without Fortran. Practically up till the arrival of the current cluster super-machines, most scientific work run on the esoteric earlier supercomputers had to be programmed in Fortran. Fortran in most cases being the only compiler available on these architectures. No ruby. (even no python  )
PS: science_trader, some guys might call us zealots.

It seems a lot of scientific libraries are still available only in fortran too, especially for astronomy.

And no, I'm not a zealot, just a poet...

Quote from prt_systems:

Your handle says it all ... Bigloser.....

You never built a strong case for microsoft not dying and your comments are meaningless conjecture and can and should be ignored ......

Having failed to engage in any type of rational thought I will put you on my ignore list .....
LOL, are you going to take your toys and go home now little boy?

So basically your argument boils down to "I am right and anyone who disagrees with me is wrong".

Too bad the market has spoken and Microsoft isn't shrinking let alone dying. But don't let those facts get in the way of your grand delusion.

Can't do science without being a poet.

If that's not poetry....

If you read this thread from the beginning, you would see that trying to talk to him is like talking to yourself. Especially since most of his responses are him saying the same thing back to you that you said to him (as someone else pointed out).

It is obvious that he is mentally retarded, so we have to be somewhat understanding.

As someone else said, let's meet back here in five years and see who was right.

... Again you illustrate the difference between man and monkey.

When confronted with the inability to formulate an valid argument the monkey resorts to agression .......

Go have a bannana .....

Again I refer people to your handle BigLoser ... an applicable handle ... opps .. forgot you were on my ignore list .... now you are ...

They are .. .and are still being used everyday - just without the punch cards - , although many of them have been converted to C, or in some cases object oriented languages which I prefer to use if I can.....
