The curse of the billygoat

RIP Mr. Goat.

I have to admit that I second guessed Maddon on pulling Hendricks when he did (bad call by ump on that pitch which seemed an obvious strike but called a ball, and no reason to pull the pitcher....thought maybe the curse was still working shortly thereafter), and then again when he pulled Lester, but we did it in the end...I think the rain delay hurt Cleveland's momentum.

I'm ecstatic and have a lot of happy relatives tonight! Cheers Nitro, and to all other Cub fans who have waited their entire lives for this!!!

Wish I was in Chicago tonight, but I'm loving the win and partying where I live. Russell went to high school only a few miles from where I live so that adds to the celebration. He'll be headlines here tomorrow.

As Harry used to say:

"Cubs Win!!!!, Cubs Win!!!!"

President Obama invites World Series champion Cubs to White House

Tribune news servicesContact Reporter
President Barack Obama has invited the World Series champion Chicago Cubs to visit him at the White House.

The team will have to make travel arrangements quickly, though, because Obama leaves office in mid-January.

The president tweeted the invitation early Thursday, shortly after the Cubs won their first championship since 1908. They defeated the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in 10 innings.

"It happened: (at)Cubs win World Series. That's change even this South Sider can believe in. Want to come to the White House before I leave?"

The Cubs aren't Obama's preferred baseball team; his loyalties lie with the White Sox. :wtf: :D

Too bad Harry Caray isn't alive to see this.
