it is an interesting story. the point of the story is that it takes a capitalist to take care of a communist village.
That's a strange conclusion. But whatever.

He can't stand to go back there, because every person has some good reason why he owes some of his success to them.

He likes it here in the USA

Like he says, "You make it and you don't owe it to anybody."

once they run out of ammunition we have hyperinflation. they electronically add zeroes to the bank's balance sheet..

That is nothing to do with fractional reserve banking as you imply. It is to do with Quantitative Easing which was done back in medieval times under the name of seniorage.

Also, you might not be aware that there have been some very successful communist societies in the past. The Iroquois would be one example, and I'm not as sure about this, but I think the Arawak and some other tribes were successful communist societies, until they were annihilated by Columbus of course. Communism apparently can work in some societies, but not in others.

Socialism/communism works well with a small number of connected people, for instance a family or a group of friends. You don't want to be competing in some free market way with your wife or son or mum!

So i suppose it could work in a small tribal village with v few people.

Apart from those examples, it's a total disaster and should be avoided.
