The cure is worse than the disease

Are you actually capable of an adult level conversation, or is it all sophomoric insults completely untethered to anything the person you're conversing with ever said? It's unclear what exactly you hope to accomplish when you open your mouth?

From my perspective, your the 1 ignoring what I have to say, therefore unable to have an intelligent debate.

Just because you disagree with me, doesn't mean that I'm wrong and your right.

They had no choice...too many people demanded the government take action to prevent the spread.

You can't demand such and then bitch about that many people out of work in which many will just work from home, others financially compensated for the lost work...people will just adapt.

My point, much easier to adapt to lost wages than to illness or worst as in a death of a love one.

Simply, no winners...nor right or wrong...just a situation where you're demanded to minimize the health cost of those that voted the government into office. Seriously, when the doctors and nurses don't have enough equipment to deal with the illness...

You gotta shut it down for awhile until the supply catches up with the demand.

Anyways, politicians are saying they rather hear they over-reacted than under-reacted because the latter is much worst in the long term and you can not wait for natural immunity to develop (could take 100 years) nor wait for a vaccine.

The thing that sucks about Pandemics...its ever changing. Social and cultural reactions determines if there's a over-reaction or no reaction as in just let nature take its course even if you become a victim too.

Survival of the fittest...right ?

1. It's not the Plague
2. If it mutates then that's a seperate virus and shit storm, deal with when/if it happens, doesn't make decisions based on no evidence.
3. We are shutting down society and bankrupting the world to save the old and ill our kids kids kids will be paying for this crap.
4. Shit Happens, it's bad, but it happens, learn to live with it, 0.35% of the population allowing for untested / don't get ill from it, is not a big %%%. You can't save everyone.

Fittest / Random chance!

I've had it, no big deal, but I might get murdered when my house gets looted so not going to claim survived until normallity resumes, which is a long way away.

Read the Title, the cure ( well Strategy ) is worse then the virus!!

The cure is worse than the disease.

  • IMO .... All these USA and Canadian government imposed business shutdowns over coronavirus (covid-19) is overreacting to the actual situation.
  • Most businesses have a sign indicating they will be closed for 2 weeks - no way can this go on for longer.
  • The government knows this and in 2 weeks will announce an improvement in the situation and allow business to open up again

Tough call, even though they have an id on big risk groups= [1] weak immune systems [2] old folks - not that Jack LaLane old folks are much of a risk.
I was reading in the news , Singapore with 6 million people it was no deaths or one death.[And come to find out China, Italy not only have heavy handed gov; they have lots of smokers,also………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. Good points; + wash your hands well.

You're actually wrong & so is your opinion. Leave this to someone with a bit of math training will ya?

You first. Go out and about. Let us know how you make out

It's estimated from the 70Mil that live in the UK 250,000 will die, that's approx 0.35%.

These numbers of 3.8% look bad, because it's 3.8% of tested people, people don't get tested unless there already very poorly, it's all a lie to get you scared and normal 20-50 years olds are scared, because 1 40 year old got it and died, there tiny numbers.

1 Person, got better than re caught it, so you can keep catching it, likely a incorrect test the 1st time, mixed up with someone else, 1 person is ignore till it's 1000nd's, just scare tactics.

Looks like the herd is getting thinned no matter what. Still I agree that with the people that say the panic is worse than the disease. Shutting down 10s of millions of people from working is probably going to do way more damage than if we just ignored the virus.

I'd much rather ignore all the idiots on ET and TWITTER than the VIRUS

This time it's much worse. We probably already have 10 times the number of suicide deaths due to this panic than covid-19 deaths.

Suicides when up 21% from 1929 to 1932. We had 48k suicides in 2018, so we can reasonably expect about another 10,000 due to unnecessary panic.

Not only panic, also distress, lots of folks locked alone , families figthing each other in cramped conditions without much of a possiblility from taking a break of each other, saw a young lady I follow on Instagram ( weightlifter) going through anxiety and it wasn t cute. This is only the beginning of the lockdown, with neighbours calling cops on someone jogging on the street ( the new Enemy Public n1, such psychos...). Ugly, although at home we are managing fine after 6 days (some parents have locked their kids for longer, I wished my kids had friends still able to visit but that s not the case atm). It could get much worse, if we lost access to cash or banking transactions, our daily sports practice or if they closed the residence large gardens, but that s already the daily life of many people in Spain. Back in Shenzhen most people were still able to go out during the crisis, things aren t back to normal there yet, with schools closed indefinitely afaik and closed since late January.
I have a hard time believing this lockdown is the best solution
