I dont think the vote can or will occur before thursday of next week- plus or minus- a day.

McConnell has announced plans to vote nearly immediately upon receiving the bogus investigation. Procedural time clock has been put into motion.

Indeed. He started the clock the minute the committee voted rather than waiting until after this crock investigation is completed. So technically it is out on the floor now even though there is no debate on it because everyone is waiting on this side circus.
As I said though, I dont think McConnell can immediately call a vote when the report is submitted. He has to call for a cloture vote first, ie. a vote to end debate on the floor. That's a weak point in the chain of events where gameplayers can play games. If he has the votes overall on the confirmation then those votes will also be there for the cloture vote and they will just blow past that in five minutes and then they will move to the confirmation vote. But if a couple of the republican dingleberries start smootching with the dems and talking about how they will not vote for cloture until witness x,y,z appears before the committee then it will get messy. If they can at least get things to a 50-50 status then Pence can vote as a tie-breaker. Man, wouldnt that piss the lefties off.
The republicans need to get through the week and if it does not go well, they need to prepare for the long game. That would involve trying to destroy any dem candidates who voted against kavanaugh and who are up for re-election. Then after the election if the pubs pick up a couple seats then they need to put kavanaugh up for confirmation again. Yup, it's a long shot and a long game but the dems got where they are with kavanaugh by playing the long shot and the long game. You either go on the counter offensive or pussy out. The latter is not pretty. It is more honorable to be beaten on the field.
Trump did the right thing today. He re-affirmed that the FBI was free to look at anything, and he public humiliated and denigrated- again- Stolen Valor Blumenthal. Under no circumstances should a bottom-feeding scumbag like Blumenthal be challenging the integrity of Kavanaugh. He should pay a price every time he opens his mouth so the public is reminded about who is trying to take kavanaugh down.

As usual Trump has done the right thing and been transparent in allowing the investigation to go wherever it wants, much as he has done with Russian collusion ridicumas. 2.
