Leftists are all excited that the Cohen payments are campaign finance violations and of course nothing could be further from the truth. First and foremost, these payments would have been made whether Trump was running for office or not which is the standard for determining if something is a campaign finance violation or not. Next, we hear Leftists now saying that these "offenses" are impeachable. No--they are not. A President cannot be impeached and removed for something that occurred prior to taking office. As with most of The Constitution, we rely on interpretation and precedent to determine how things can proceed. For example, there is no law governing whether a woman can have an abortion, but we rely on Roe V Wade as precedent and it becomes defacto law. Such is the same with the precedent set in the case of VP Schuyler Colfax where the House Judiciary Committee determined that he should not be impeached since offenses occurred prior to taking office. Thus, this is defacto law. Keep trying though Lefties. By the way, under your logic, Barack Hussein should have been impeached for the 300k fine for campaign finance violation(s) that he paid.
