The Coming Renationalization of Petrobras.

SouthAmerica: In the summary version I have not posted the part of my article that I mentioned ethanol. I am going to post below the Ethanol portion of the article.

You said: “I do not disagree with your concept but it seems to me that in order to mop-up the balance of potential earnings gov. is required to absorb the entire responsibility and we know from history that very very few govs. can achieve this with any degree of efficiency.”

Again the model that I am using is Saudi Arabia and Aramco.

Obrigado SA

Nothing there that I disagree with and I did notice your reference to taxation ... a very powerful and so simple tool.

I do think that the Saudi/Aramco model needs to be viewed very carefully simply because the social background to the governance of Saudi is very very different to that of Brazil and it can/will create a major distortion in the way in which Brazil might manage Petrobras should it chose this route.
That is why the idea of control via retention at pump and border should not be caste aside lightly imo.

Brazil has such diverse opportunities available to it whilst Saudi is oil, dates and sand essentially. I know that they have expressed a desire to head for hi-tech pastures but firstly they will need to address their internal social restrictions all the time keeping watch on the outcome of US struggle to give away it's employment base to the east.
How much hi tech can the next generation absorb?

The issue of growing organic fuel at the expense of food production is an interesting one.

What are your thoughts on an OPEC for major food exporting countries of which there are currently very few.

SouthAmerica: Reply to Libertad

After my economic development plan is implemented in Brazil I can see all kinds of companies being started by all kinds of people in Brazil since they will have the foundations in place to create their new companies.

The only limitation that Brazilians will have will be based on their lack of imagination and creativity.

I am sure that if we build the foundations the Brazilian population will respond with creativity and imagination and this feedback among the people it will open many horizons and new business opportunities.

Brazilians are street smart and they have been well trained to survive and be agile in a very tough business environment.

When these people create their new companies they will able to list on these state of the stock exchanges of the future.

I am sure that 15 or 20 years from now they are going to have some type of global stock exchanges that people would be able to invest 24/7 in any company around the world including these new Brazilian start ups.

Excellent Commentary....As Usual....

..........................................................................................

I think that your thinking is on the money as usual, optimizing the assets that are available in Brazil.

Brazil indeed has an incredibly bright future....

And it will be because of people like yourself.....or perhaps.... actually yourself being there.... to steer it along....

I think that you should be playing a more direct role in Brazil....at least give it some consideration.....

............................................................................................

One person ....can make all the difference in the world......either in the wrong direction such as Bush or Cheney....

Or in the right direction....possibly such as yourself working more directly in Brazilian matters....or like a Boone Pickens in the US.....

............................................................................................

Boone Pickens is spending over $48 million on US adds that will be shown on US TV, and other media forms.....in order to try to unite the US on a possible and formidable energy plan.....

And it will be because of Boone Pickens that it actually happens....no one else.....
............................................................................................

At times .....good leadship spells the difference between a brilliantly successful economic future.....or a horrific economic debacle for a country and its people....I never thought that a single individual could cause so much damage to the world......however Bush, Cheney have exceeded what I thought was possible....truly bad seed....

SouthAmerica: I don’t think that is going to happen.

We will not need a OPEC for food.

Supply and demand will push the prices up because of global demand.

We will not have enough countries to form an OPEC for food.

In the coming years most countries will have to reevaluate the export of food because of one major problem – lack of freshwater.

The freshwater supply will play a major role in global food production in the coming years.

If you read my article about China investing $ 200 billion dollars in Brazil – in that article I described in detail what is going to happen around the world in the area of food production. So Far over 7,000 people took the time to read that article.

SouthAmerica: If you read the comments following the article then you would know that I am in the process of doing that.

I wrote and posted on Brazzil magazine the following to answer a question from a friend of mine.

That should answer your question.

****

Here is the article that I had mentioned to you.

If you noticed I made some improvements on the economic development plan for Brazil and I had to adjust some figures because of what has been happening since September of last year when Brazzil magazine published my article about China investing $200 billion dollars in Brazil.

Petrobras will be a better source of funding for my economic development plan for Brazil, and now there is no excuse for the Brazilian government to not implement the above plan.

This plan puts in place the foundations necessary for all the other pieces to fall into place - a new education system designed for the 21st Century, bring the jobs to where people live today, as job opportunities develops then the crime rate it will go down as people will be able to find new job opportunities.

I am getting in contact with all the members of my family who are involved in politics in Brazil for them to help me to push forward the enclosed economic development plan.

I am also contacting former President Jose Sarney for him to help me contact the right people inside the Brazilian government who can help me move this plan forward.

Let's put to the test if the “Andrada Dynasty” still alive and well in Brazil and if our family still have the influence and the power that we had in Brazil in the past 200 years.

It is time to stop talking and instead it is time to start acting and implementing these ideas.

It is show time.

They will be lucky to have you, SA......

I would also like to see some other countries in Latin America make some very important changes so that their populations will have a better future.....

To have it happen in Brazil.....will serve as the model for the rest of the region...and will vastly improve the lives of many.....

Both the Chavez Fidel and Bush Cheney approaches are severely flawed.....and are perfect examples of how important proper leadership really is....

Improper leadership suggests whether or not a country fails or succeeds and cannot be taken lightly.....

If they are doing such a wonderful and efficient job then why gasoline prices have skyrocketed in the US in the last few years?

Please explain to me this wonderful job that the private oil companies are doing because I can't see it.

.

Respectfully, that comment alone reveals your ignorance or lack of knowledge concerning the CAUSE of high gasoline prices.

Correct... and the difference between refineries and oil exploration companies.

Petrobras has indeed discovered what are thought to be two monster oil fields. The problem is they are in incredibly difficult formations that will require immense investments to bring them to production.

In view of this, I would expect the Brasilians to hold off stealing investors' stake in this company until the necessary investments have been made to get these fields on line and all that remains is collecting the money. That is the way socialists and marxists typically operate. They create nothing of value and act as parasites on the economy.

When Petrobras is completely renationalized the Brazilian government will control 100 percent of its outstanding shares – in essence the Brazilian people would be the new owners of Petrobras.

Perfect. No more capitalists, people will be owners. This is so fucking incredibly stupid and naive it deserves no more comments. The whole Eastern Bloc was based on the same non-sense.
