The CL/NQ experiment

Up to date performance.
I will concentrate on my live trading from now on, so this might be the last update of this performance.

Gabe

Are you going to update on the live performance as well?
The live trades will be only using IWM for now.
This thread fulfilled its purpose when it clearly showed me that my system has an edge and the only problem is between my ears.

If mindset is the most important aspect of trading, how would one explain that in the Journals forum has 145,366 Replies and 74,498,926 Views and in the Psychology forum there are 10,472 Replies and 1,546,671 Views in the top 20 positions (based on Views). That is almost a 13:1 ration in favor of the Journals in the Replies tab and 48:1 in the Views tab.
Shouldn't the ratios be reversed?

I read this awhile back and couldn't remember where I saw it, anyways IMO based on the failure rate of traders, not to mention the fact that majority do the "wrong thing" then it makes perfect sense that the ratios are what they are.

The ratios might make sense in some context but what does not make sense is that people understand that the ratios don't make sense, yet they do nothing to change.

Gabe,

I am quite sure people don't understand or even know of those stats... just animal instincts (the same ones that drive TV ratings that rise for bad news) resulting in stats WE hopefully can use.. i.e... the first step to solving a problem is knowing the problem.

In this case the message is since most lose in trading don't do what most do which is ignore working on the gray matter while chasing systems all day.. The trader IS a part of the system... THE TRADER IS PART OF THE SYSTEM.

But that's the whole point, it does make sense. People make the wrong decision all the time. If they didn't there probably wouldn't be a market.

I got into an argument with my Wife last night, did I know better yes, did I continue on anyway, yes. Love you Honey.
