The cancerous Zionist entity attacks another Liberty

It says coast line and sea of Gaza.

50km offshore is still very much coast line. If you knew anything about maritime terminology you'd know that. Further there is no debating that it was within the sea of gaza. Another swing and yet another miss for sameeh.

Quote from sameeh55:

With one exception phenomena, your Zionist entity's Piracy act was carried in international waters and not in Gaza’s coastal water.

Thanks for playing. Try again. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote from phenomena:

To cite the Gaza-Jericho Agreement (Annex I, Article XI) which vests Israel with the responsibility for security along the coastline and the Sea of Gaza. The agreement stipulates that Israel may take any measures necessary against vessels suspected of being used for terrorist activities or for smuggling arms, ammunition, drugs, goods, or for any other illegal activity. [67]

The ship was in international waters.

The agreement doesn't extend past Israel's territorial waters.

Israel had no jurisdiction and the ship had a right to attack the soldiers. Who could of well been Pirates, Mercs or whatever. Who knows.

Was this agreement properly implemented?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza–Jericho_Agreement

The Gaza-Jericho Agreement of 4 May 1994 was a follow-up treaty to the Oslo Accords in which the details of Palestinian autonomy were concluded.

The Treaty provided for Palestinian self-rule in the West Bank and Gaza Strip within five years. Implementation of the Treaty was thwarted by the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, Palestinian attacks on Israelis, and the subsequent refusal of his successor Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw Israeli troops from the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Yes, they do. They have the right to board a ship approaching the coast line or anywhere in the gaza sea.

Also, any ship anywhere in international waters may be boarded if suspected of carrying weapons illegally or weapons of mass destruction.

Also:

Mark Regev, spokesman for the Prime Minister of Israel, has stated that "the San Remo memorandum[64] states, specifically 67A, that if you have a boat that is charging a blockaded area you are allowed to intercept even prior to it reaching the blockaded area if you've warned them in advance, and that we did a number of times and they had a stated goal which they openly expressed, of breaking the blockade. That blockade is in place to protect our people."

Also:

According to Abbas Al Lawati, Dubai-based Gulf News journalist on board the flotilla, Israel is likely[66] to cite the Gaza-Jericho Agreement (Annex I, Article XI) which vests Israel with the responsibility for security along the coastline and the Sea of Gaza. The agreement stipulates that Israel may take any measures necessary against vessels suspected of being used for terrorist activities or for smuggling arms, ammunition, drugs, goods, or for any other illegal activity. [67]

Also:

You are only making a fool of yourself at this point. You have been proven wrong, and are only making yourself look like a whiney cry baby who can't take their medicine.

No matter how much you whine, cry, and stomp your feet. It was still legal.

Really, they deserve a medal for not just sinking the ship.

Quote from tomdavis:

Most of the discussions I see about Israel are from people who have never even been in the Middle East and have no first-hand knowledge of the situation. I lived there, off and on, for 13 years while I was growing up. My father was an engineer with a large construction company and I lived in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and UAE.

The problems of the Middle East are much deeper and more complex than most people make them out to be. These problems are religious, cultural and geographical in nature. One major stumbling block is the fact that most countries (except Egypt and Jordan) take the position that Israel has no right to exist.

This was reiterated recently in the proposal to make the Middle East a nuclear free-zone. Israel responded that they would join the negotiations if the other countries in the region publicly recognized Israel's right to exist. Over the next 48 hours, Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran made statements that Israel will never have a right to exist under any conditions at any time. Hamas said that they would never stop fighting until every last Zionist was driven from the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Lebanon refused to respond.

Egypt and Jordan were able to make peace simply by acknowledging Israel's right to exist. If other countries would do the same, even if it came with conditions, it would be a huge step forward in the peace process.

I'm not here to defend Israel's actions, but after living in the Middle East and being told many times by Muslims that they are commanded to kill infidels, especially Jews, I do understand the Jewish paranoia. After hearing the things I heard and seeing the things I saw in Muslim countries (particularly how brutally they treat women), if I were Jewish I would be paranoid, too.

I don't think there is much hope for a "peaceful" solution. How can you negotiate with someone that has sworn to kill you?
