So if you and Bagdad Bob have all the answers. Go for it. He needs the help because it is getting worse by the day with no end in sight.

This sends a message once you enter into or stay too long in the U.S., you are safe from deportation.

This encourages areas in the U.S. to import as many migrants as possible into sanctuary areas to get more seats in the House of Representatives.

This is like removing your front door while adding a welcome mat with respect to (currently) illegal immigration.

This encourages migrants in Mexico to come to the U.S. where they will be released if caught (and told to attend a hearing sometime in the future regarding their status).

This encourages immigrants who will need to be supported by taxpayers.

This encourages migrants to enter the U.S. illegally, but makes it ok if they come with their children.


Honorable mention:
It's not directly related to the southern U.S. border and at first sounds sensible, but the order has more holes than a Swiss cheese factory.
 
All of the above is misinformation. There is a crisis at the border, it’s the massive influx of accompanied children. This cohort has surged nearly 30% but began in January.

There is a real humanitarian aspect here in that we are currently not processing these kids in the established 72 hours.

People like @TreeFrogTrader are not being honest about the situation. We are expelling nearly every migrant that isn’t a child immediately.

There is some real work to do down there but the biggest problem is the normal problem, right wingers cannot get this stuff right. They’re dishonest and not serious so it just makes solving these problems much more difficult than it should be.

Literally nothing you wrote here is accurate and is an imaginary right wing spin on some common sense actions.

What I will say is that most of these orders are intended to clean up some of Trump’s misguided EOs that gummed up the works in processing and removing migrants from the interior.

I will note the Executive Order only reverts the Census counting method to the original method that has been used for decades -- where non-U.S. citizens are not excluded from the count. The count for the 2020 Census has been completed last year - the EO merely states that all residents will be counted -- as they always have been for decades. It's hard to make a case that this EO will change anything about the 2020 Census numbers by suddenly causing an increase in illegal immigrants -- the Census is done, immigrants arriving after January 20, 2021 are not added to the 2020 Census totals.

I don’t know about there should a policy somewhere between the extremes. A lot of this stuff is messy.

There should be zero tolerance for illegal border crossings but the we have people here who are undocumented and established members of the community with families etc.

So it’s always going to be a mess and it’s always going to be more than zero illegal immigrants. What we need is serious and sober enforcement. Yelling and being mean and lying about it doesn’t solve anything.

Donald Trump was as mean as a rattlesnake to illegal immigrants and they still came in record numbers. He poured more money into the border and security than ever and they still came in record numbers. Why because he was dumb and his policies were more to appease dumb people than to be effective.

All of these attacks on Biden about the birder and this current surge won’t change that he will manage and deter illegal immigration better than Trump ever did. We would be lucky if he was half as effective at deterring and deporting as Obama was - you know the Deporter in Chief.

Excuse me, I thought we were talking about Joe Biden. Now it’s the democrats ran a reckless campaign. Whatever. Like I said, it’s fair to judge Joe Biden on a number of metrics including illegal immigration. We will see how that works out.

As to Trump, he hangs like an albatross around every argument you and your ilk make. That’s your standard. You and yours had plenty of time to reject his failures, instead you propped up the worst president possibly ever.
