So now the so-inclined very rich can own democracy, too. As one of the characters in Scott Turow's recent novel, Identical, said "If rich people could spend without limit trying to decide elections, we were basically back to where we started, where the only voters were white men with property."

True, but consider to what Soros has devoted much of his philanthropic giving: Open Society.I thought it was a funny video.I agree with his take, too - on most of it. I also note, however, that he doesn't point out billionaires like Soros and their connection the democratic party, but he's a left leaning comedian.

His principal objective is that all voices are heard and none are drowned out. Money and power have a way of corrupting that ideal, and that where his foundation comes in. Just guessing, but I doubt he is looking for personal gain in his giving. I'm guessing he's happy with what he has and with what he's making. If anything, and on balance, the Right is more aligned with his financial interests. The Koch brothers, however, are auditioning contestants to dance for them. You want evil? There it is. THAT is corrupting the democratic process well beyond anything you choose to accuse Soros of.

LOL, what a load of shit, Soros made a large chunk of his wealth by evading taxes his whole life, and now he thinks that taxes should be raised on everyone else to pay for his commie utopia. Atleast the koch brothers are practicing what they preach. Soros is nothing more than a hypocrite.
This is an example of you looking at the bad in your opponents, and ignoring the bad in favor of those whose ideals you support.
Soros is the same creature you claim to dislike in the Koch brothers. He's gotten rich the same way, and he's used his money in the same manner - to affect political change.
The only difference is the ideals in which he believes - ones you support vs. ones you don't. If your argument is to get big money out of politics (which I agree with) then you have to remove the factor of the ideals, which biases your own opinion.
I support much of what the Koch's believe in (conservatism and free markets). However, I believe they should be removed from the influence of politics.
