The bill has passed in Wisconsin: Collective Bargaining is Dead for Public Employees

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

Two words:

Recall election.

Bank on it.

even if they have enough to get a recall election, he wont be recalled. all you hear about is the squeaky wheel - the angry people. a good portion of the state's public is pleased. you just dont see them in the street because things are going their way.

walker didnt suddenly become conservative, you know. he was elected to do just what he's doing.

The simple fact that you're so much against it is almost proof that it was the right move. Get a clue oblivious one. "Real Americans" do NOT support union-owned legislators fleeing the state and confiscating money from working people to pay for the "benefits" of collective gardening, like:

A Year’s Worth of Pay for 30 Days of Work

Teachers Receiving Two Pensions

Almost $10,000 Per Year for Doing Nothing

No Volunteer Crossing Guards Allowed

$6,000 Extra for Carrying a Pager

Arbitrator Reinstates Porn-Watching Teacher

‘Outstanding First Year Teacher’ Laid Off

Union Opposes Cost-Saving Lawn Mowing Program

The $150,000 Bus Driver

$150,000 Correctional Officers

Quote from CaptainOblivious:

Yeah, it's wonderful to just make shit up as you go along, until you find yourself on the other end, and the day will come where Repubs are on the other end. This is just what I've said in the past as to how we're at where we're at politically. Just keep ratcheting it up. You think the Dems will just let this slide? Next time they're in a position to do so, Repubs can expect to get jammed, and in the end the people lose more and more liberty and freedom with every little game they play. Any real American would be disgusted by this move. Disgusted, and fearful of the direction we're going.

Of course, this victory in Wisconsin, that the conservatives are lauding, will bell the conservative cat in 2012?

This will work in the dems favor in 2012, count on it.

thats twice today youre making faulty assumptions.

people ragged on how Chris Christie could never go against the unions in NJ (arguably a much more liberal state than Wisconsin) and he did, and his popularity went UP significantly despite everyone railing about how he would be "crushed" by his decisions.

Quote from 377OHMS:

Its downright amazing to me how you can ignore the un-democratic action of fleeing the state to avoid voting and declare a legal act carried out by elected representatives to be disgusting. Twisted.

I did not support the dems fleeing the state. If fact I wrote it was the wrong thing to do and they should have taken their beating, and then fight the fight in the court of public opinion.
What's amazing to me is how you can give a free pass to those that destroyed an economy for fun and profit, and then set this high degree of personal accountability for the man in the street. How you can defend the boardroom criminals is beyond me, but if that's who you are, then that's who you are. Just don't come bitching when the boot is on your throat, and that day is coming sooner than later. A government that can just make shit up as it suits, and gives no voice to the people it supposedly represents, is a government to be very afraid of.

Again Tsing, it's early. Now Christie is a leading candidate for the GOP to attempt to unseat a sitting president, an unenviable task. We will see how this affects Christie down the stretch.

Quote from 377OHMS:

.. I hope those affected can realize that this improves the chances for their children and grandchildren to realize the same quality-of-life that we have or better.

What a crock of bullshit!! The middle class is being wiped out in this country. There will be only the rich and the poor at the mercy of the rich. An environment ripe for chaos. This is the first generation that parents knows that their children will not have opportunities in life better than themselves. A sorry state of affairs. And you stupid people on this blog thinks you are on the upper crest of society and the changes coming will not affect you. Better stock up on your ammo.

Nah. Markets are eternal. A trader, a good one, will simply move.
