The White House says Donald Trump's perma-tan is due to 'good genes' and not spray tans

  • President Donald Trump's skin maintains a tanned, orange hue even though it's winter.
  • The official White House position is that it's due to "good genes," a phrase Trump himself uses often.
  • For TV appearances, the president applies a skin powder to his face.
  • While many people say Trump likes using tanning beds, there's no evidence he keeps one in the White House.

“A young man who's got very little going for himself except he's got a great first name. He challenged us. We have say 35,000 people tonight, and he has, say, 200 people, 300 people," Trump said while speaking at at a campaign rally in El Paso. "Not too good. In fact what I would do, that may be the end of his presidential bid."

Trump said earlier in the evening that about 10,000 people were inside and thousands more watching on screens outside.

“Tens of thousands of people are watching the screens outside,” Trump said.

However, a Fire Department spokesman said 6,500 people were inside the venue and denied any special accommodations were made. Several thousand, though, were outside the Coliseum, watching the president's speech on big screens. There were no official estimates, though.
