A very predictable and boring movie.
I would like to see a movie about the person that shorted before the market crashes - and ended up with nothing. You know the saying "The Market Can Remain Irrational Longer Than You Can Remain Solvent"
Yes, like the Nasdaq back in the spring of 2000...I watched a slew of traders trying to short that whale, never seen anything like that market and its moves since then...

I agree, I felt the same way when I saw Saving Private Ryan. How do they dare to make a movie 50+ years after the fact???
If you aren't completely stupid and you actually criticize a movie AFTER seeing it, you also realize:
1. It took 2 years to write a book after the events.
2. It took another 2-3 years to get the movie done.
When was the last time you saw a movie 6 months after the events took place???
So, as a rating agency analyst and then banker for the first 10 years of my career I have a special fascination with this film. The trailers made me think "another Wall St bashing crowd pleaser" and I avoided it until some people who's opinion I respect said go and see it. I went twice. I was a CMBS banker (commercial mortgages on offices buildings, shopping centers etc. as opposed to houses)
The rating agency scene is one I've experienced personally and the scene where Burry is getting chewed out has slices of truth (about being early but not being wrong - I won't spoil it). They even picked real locations for lobbies of several of the banks (I was in and out of all of them as a rating agency guy). The two young hedgies that never get invited past the lobby? Happens all the time.
Raneiri who's character appears early in the film as inventor of mbs was my boss's boss and my banking co-worker's boss. Both worked at Salomon during the wild 80's bond era that the book "Liar's Poker" describes. I heard a lot about what that was like. This film gets my enthusiastic 2 thumbs up.

It is just you, the movie is excellent. Saw it 5+ times. They had to tell 4-5 different stories, what was the problem for you?
