The best wine, champagne, beer or mixed drink

Is anyone here a scotch fan?

My brother and I were up until 4 in the morning a few weeks ago drinking Balvenie. He said it was about 80 bucks, so I am assuming it was the 17 year old.

My God it was smooth. It made Johnny Walker Green taste like gasoline. But I haven't been a fan of JW for quite some time.

Living in a small coastal town near the Santa Ynez valley I am blessed with wine that rivals anything I've had in Napa (or France for that matter).

This is my favorite CA Pinot and at $28 its a bargain.

We're members at that place and all the wines are good... I recommend the wine club.

This is one of my favorite Cabs (a napa wine):

Favorite Merlot (2003 Georis) from the Carmel Valley... If they still have it.

Do note all these places don't sell through stores so becoming a club member, buying directly, or visiting is the only way get these bottles.

Beer-wise.... Firestone Pale Ale is a local beer here (Central CA coast). Terrific beer.

Enjoy.

Keep all suggestions coming. Good reading and informative.

Cheers

Ok, well since I can't find those locally, the next time you get your hands on some, feel free to mail me a few bottles. :D

My family heritage is Scottish, but oddly enough, I have been unable to develop a palette for Scotch. I've tried probably 5 or 6 times in the past but it just never did anything for me. Maybe I just haven't found the right one.

Double Black? Sounds interesting.

But I am wondering if anyone has had the Johnny Walker Purple.

Never seen purple. Gonna look it up. Perhaps my father in law would like it as a gift.

Double black is new. Only released about a year ago.
