The best traders in ET

What do you mean by this?

In futures you have crop reports, inventory reports, demand/consumption projections etc. In many instances demand can be linked to economic data, silver for example having >50% consumption by industry. I could go on and on but you should get the point already.

Yes, that was poorly and not completely worded on my part--- it should read " TA price action traders( on elite. Hog, doji, Hershey etc) do not believe any other information is needed to make profitable trading decisions than price and volume. They believe all outside info is already in the price---

Quote from zdreg:

you never provided the evidence. if you had the evidence you would have copied and pasted it. you have consistently mislead this board .
repeating the same lie over again doesn't make it the truth. one or two months is meaningless. if you wish to rehash incomplete numbers you will be ridiculed.

the truth is you are a liar when it comes to sykes.
it is a trait of liars to tell others to do their own research when you should have COMPLETE info. at your fingertips.

i am glad you enjoyed his entourage of gold diggers. was it a vicarious thrill?

LOL, go away troll. You know no matter what evidence is posted you will simply keep demanding more and more--- then call into question the veracity of the evidence.

It's no win dealing with folks like you. You are ignored.

This is a correct expression of my trading methods. I only need two time-based price charts to trade profitably. I don't even use volume.

For those unfamiliar with psychology, this post is an example of "projection". When a person projects, he accuses someone of a negative behavior that he himself engages in.

"Projection tends to come to the fore in normal people at times of crisis, personal or political, but is more commonly found in the neurotic or psychotic."

1. Thank you for admitting

2. If you knew the history of Ztroll asking for evidence then when provided demanding more and more, you would not consider this a case of projection.

Knowing the history of Marketsurfer asking for evidence then when provided demanding more and more, you would definitely consider this a schoolbook case of projection.

What do we do when an "UNKNOWN" news item hits the exchange and price takes off from the "MOMENTUM" of this unknown source of price moving information?

Correct, this new info is "ENTERING" the mkt and we do not need be concerned about the why, what or where it came from.

New info entering the mkt is a cause and if the chart says momentum is alive and well...........then you use it. Momentum is the mothers milk of TA, reasons are yesterdays news, by the time we get the answer to WHY, the move is basically over.

Surf, are you admitting that news is a driver for us TA chaps. :D

And if you will, Do not forget that chartists anticipate upcoming momentum when we pick out our points where price alone will cause the players to react. This is hard for non-believers to comprehend because they have not yet learned how to READ charts. Raise your hand high surf!!!!!!!!!

You do present a compelling case --- TA is a bet on momentum continuing in either direction---but my belief is that there is no way to determine even at 51% accuracy that it will or will not continue. Therefore, a reasonable random entry should create the similar odds of a continuation of price in the chosen direction. surf

Prudential Fires Acampora, Shuts Technical Analysis Department
2005-10-04 14:26 (New York)

By Daniel Hauck
Oct. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Prudential Equity Group LLC fired its
chief technical strategist, Ralph Acampora, as the firm shut its
technical analysis department to cut costs.
``As of today, we no longer have a technical research
department,'' Prudential spokesman Jim Gorman said in a phone
interview.
Acampora had served as director of technical research at
Prudential since 1990. From 1980 to 1990, he was director of
technical research at Kidder Peabody & Co. He was voted a
runner-up among technical analysts in Institutional Investor's
2004 survey.
The firing was first reported by Dow Jones Newswires.
