Dddooo: While Al Gore if he runs would easily win the primaries, would be a great candidate and his campaign slogan "Re-elect Al Gore" would resonate with voters, I see absolutely no reason why he needs a Clinton on his ticket with all his controversies, investigations, love affairs and scandals. There are much better alternatives for VP today - Russ Feingold if he wants a progressive anti-war, anti-Patriot Act straight shooter, Wesley Clark if he needs military experience and Mark Warner if he wants a southern centrist with gubernatorial experience capable of easily carrying his own state (VA).

SouthAmerica: In my opinion Al Gore made two major mistakes in the 2000 presidential election â and he paid the price for these major mistakes.
1) The number one mistake Al Gore made in 2000 was to distance himself from Bill Clinton and his accomplishments during the last 8 years.
2) The second major mistake he made when he announced his choice for a running mate, at that point I told a few people: Al Gore just lost the election.
I never understood why he picked Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut to be on his ticket. This was not the right time to pick the first Orthodox Jew to be on a major party ticket in the history of the United States â when the United States is involved as a mediator in the mess in the Middle East and the US is perceived in the Arab world as being a major supporter of Israel.
Personally I donât care about anyoneâs religion and I donât discriminate when people believe in Islam, Jewish religion, Buddhism, or any other religion for that matter. I believe in freedom of religion and the right of people to follow their chosen religion.
I also believe in the separation of church and state.
I donât believe that the United States and the majority of its people were ready to elect an Orthodox Jewish for vice president since he could end up as the president of the United States if anything happened to the elected president.
And once again, I believe that - not because I discriminate against the Jewish religion and the Jewish people â but because of the political impact related to the mess that we have in the Middle East since I can remember.
If an Orthodox Jew such as Senator Joseph Lieberman became president of the United States that would not go well in the entire Moslem world because of the politics of the Middle East.
The choice of Joseph Lieberman to be Al Goreâs running mate in 2000 was a major mistake.
The other thing that I donât understand is why Al Gore chose a senator from a state â Connecticut â that was supposed to be a democratic state anyway. Why he did not choose a Senator such as Daniel Robert Graham (Bob Graham) a democrat from Florida â with Bob Graham as a running mate Al Gore would have had a better change to carry the state of Florida since Bob Graham was a very popular senator in that state and he would have helped Al Gore secure a win in Florida in the 2000 presidential campaign.

Al Goreâs stock will increase drastically in the next 18 months after the United States goes thru another two catastrophic hurricane seasons with various Katrinas and widespread destruction and a lot of talk about global warming.
Al Gore will become the front-runner and most likely the democratic candidate in the 2008 presidential election.
With Al Gore for president and Bill Clinton as his running mate in 2008 â the democratic ticket would be almost a sure winner in that election.
In my opinion it is the way to go â if the democrats want to win in 2008.
In my opinion, Bill Clinton would be well received around the world on his effort to rebuild United States prestige and credibility from all the damage done during the Bush administration years â he would be well received even in places such as North Korea and Iran.
Bill Clinton is the best politician the United States has to offer to the world â he is a real statesman and the people know that he is very smart and a scholar. He is a real superstar.
If the Al Gore/Bill Clinton team becomes reality in 2008 â I could see them choosing a high caliber cabinet team to help their administration that could include high quality people such as General Anthony Zinni as the new Secretary of State and so onâ¦
And I am sure they would choose an outstanding economic team as well with people of the caliber of Loyd Bentsen, Robert Rubin, and Robert Reich among others.
Conclusion:
The democratic party instead of wasting time with all the other people that the mainstream media speculate that could be the next potential democratic candidates for the 2008 presidential election - they should concentrate instead and place all their efforts and money starting today behind the ticket Al Gore / Bill Clinton for 2008.
This winning strategy also would send a message around the world â if you wait and have a little patience the United States will elect a quality government in 2008 and you will be able to communicate with the new people and you would avoid having to deal with the current US government officials who are as stupid and incompetent as anyone can be.

In my opinion, at this point the Democratic Party has its candidate for 2008, all the democrats have to do at this point is figure out who else will be in the Democratic ticket as vice president. Al Gore will be the Democratic candidate but not because of his latest movie about global warming and the environment. If that was the case then they should have released the movie in the summer of 2007 to position him as a potential candidate.
The reason Al Gore will sky rocket and will be very hard for any other democrat to beat him in the effort to become the Democratic candidate in 2008 â it is because the American people will be watching on live television at least 2 or 3 Hurricane Katrinas per year during the summer of 2006, 2007, and the summer before the presidential election in 2008.
