The best investing advice you've ever recieved

Dont never got no investment advice except obvious scams. Wont hear any either as need to go my own way and want to secure advancements rather than just take anything.

My personal advice is do what you do best, make it realistic, simplify, rinse and repeat. Exciting first couple of years, then getting more and more boring. Thats when you can go deeper into the rabbithole and be utterly dispassionate about starting over from scratch.

Prolly bad advice though

One very good advice I received was when I was about beginning my forex trading career. Then a colleague told me to start forex with my risk capital. That is money I can afford to lose. This way, there was no huge pressure for me to make money quickly so I had the time and the patience to perfect my trading system.

Don't play drunk
Don't play stoned
Don't play on a full stomach
Don't play scared money
Don't play greedy money
Don't play when mad, Sad, or in a Generally Bad Mood
Don't play if you have no patience or discipline
Don't play at all if you just suck

I received this from my Uncle long ago, "Don't have to re-invent the wheel-tailcoat often, don't buy horses, consistent money is made in small pieces at a time, let other people pay often for your investments like real estate, small businesses become bigger when you are there each day and help others when you can-usually comes back tenfold".

That was over fifty years ago and I have tried to live up to his words.
