The best hedge fund ever?

Quote from Trendinvestor:

I have just been told about this thread. Considering that Trendinvestor is me, i guess it is best to respond.

We have just over 3000 paid subscribers

Now tell me the one about Goldilocks and the 3 bears.

Only in your wettest of dreams do you maybe have a few hundred current subscribers,
and that's a real stretch.
Prove you have 3000 customers currently subscribing and I promise I will send you $1000.
This should be easy money for you . And you will get alot of instant respect on this board to boot !
It's a no lose situation for you !

We trade very infrequently, With the Mechanical system we went Long on 24/09/1994 we stayed LONG until 30/10/2000 When we went SHORT we covered this SHORT on 24/01/2003 and again went LONG we are still LONG.

24/09/1994 - close to the time a faster SMA (like a 20 -30 SMA) crossed the 200 SMA to the upside

30/10/2000 - this is close to the time the faster SMA crossed the 200 SMA to the downside, although there was an intermittent down cross followed by an up cross around 9/1998 depending on the value of the faster SMA.

24/01/2003 - this is approximately the time when the faster SMA crosses again to the upside the 200 SMA

EXCELLENT FIT! He probably used exponential MA and this is a simple MA crossover signal, buy and reverse.

I can give you the signals for free or you can even get them yourselves from any TA program.

THE PROBLEM is to find the BEST FIT for the future. lol Because I can tell you that one won't work. lol

Unfortunately his claim of 3000+ is a lie. I call this a scam to get noobs to send money.
I agree. This lie is soo blatant it's absurd.

As we have now entered the realm of personal insult i feel there is no point whatsoever in continuing posting on this forum.

I wish you all good luck with your trading/Investing. I explained to you our trade signals, so you can easily backtest our claims for yourselves. I also offered a free subscription for a year. which i note that many of you have taken up.

As i have already explained our previous trades. The "proof" is in our trading results from this day forward. We have been LONG for all of 2007 and we remain LONG. I expect the back end of 2007 to be much more difficult than the first 6 months, but who knows. We have a system that has proven itself and we will stick to that system.

Perhaps what people are really doubting here is that you have real money at risk on this strategy and have really lived through draw downs and an annualised standard deviation of monthly returns of something around 80% in each case.

I too find this somewhat unlikely. I find it a little difficult to believe that a run of the mill investor could have lived through this.

If you wish to definitively establish that you are a genuine fund manager, that you do have the AUM claimed on iasg.com and that you are not merely posting hypothetical results from a back test then you can easily do so. As you are well aware.

If you do manage money for others you will have an auditor who can certify your performance and your AUM. If you do manage money for others it is most unlikely that you will have been able to avoid regulation by the SFA unless you manage your own capital or that of a maximum of two to three clients. If the money is your own, again, you will have an accountant for tax purposes who can easily verify and certify your claims.

If (and I make no judgement on this matter) you are not all that you claim to be then you will refuse to take up such suggestions and will refuse to produce the independent evidence which is the only way you can convince potential clients and other interested parties.

It is really that simple.
