Although the average price of a Porsche is almost double the price of a Maserati (sales divided by sold cars) Porsche sold 8 times more cars.

For fun I went to Mecum to see what a pristine 84 Grand National Turbo sells for.... about $30K... not much of a return.
Now a 71 Charger Convertible.... $1m plus. Beats Buffet and the S&P.
Ferrari takes number one last year.... but check out Ford at number 2, Hemis always come in...junk....my fav is the McLaren, only because I like the color. (the wheels are tacky)

I don't care for McLaren-- a personal issue with the brand , aesthetically they don't look "right" to me, combined with they feel/look like a $200k go-cart-- Aston Martin will be my next car.
