Then those Sanders supporters are naïve and capricious, and willing to cut off their nose to spite their face. If they don't vote for Hillary, then they will get Trump as you pointed out, and deservedly so.

I like Sanders, but truth be told, his appeal to his base is not unlike Trump's appeal to his own base: a simple message of big promises that neither will be able to deliver.

Either way it goes, "I'm voting blue no matter who". I hope all dems will do the same. Sadly, it seems there are a lot of Sanders supporters who think, "if I can't have European socialism this instant then I'm not voting!"
 
I agree with this article in spirit. I disagree in practice. How can a 75 year old man be the future of anything? Bernie needs to mentor an army of young people to pick up the torch.

Another thing, voters tend to vote for what currently is important to them. I have seen it over and over and over. A woman moves to a neighborhood, she has a freshman in high school. Some bill comes up to refresh the high school as it is old and some parts might not even be safe. She vehemently campaigns for it.

Four years later her daughter goes to college. Now she wants no part of the tax hikes to continue to fix the high school.

People don't do the right thing. They do the economically selfish thing.

Nitro, I see the liberal media now turning on Bernie. The WashPost editorial page attacked him fairly viciously today, ostensibly about the Nevada circus but a few months ago they would have ignored it. Now the message has gone out from Soros and the Clintons, Bernie is no longer behaving appropriately. Hillary is annoyed and embarrassed by his continuing to win primaries when she should be exulting in her coronation.

I'd advise him to be careful.

Turning on him? They never gave him the time of day! Where Bernie failed is where Trump succeeded. Why the different result? Did you see the debates? Clinton would go on these endless soliloquies, with Bernie raising his hand to Blitzer trying to get in a word.

I want to see how Trump handles Clinton - she is one of those high school debate champions. He won't be able to get a word in either, unless he goes ballistic on everybody and tells her to shut up. I think Trump should bring one of those stopwatches that coaches use and let everyone know he has it. It should be funny actually :D He will probably ask her if this is how she does foreign policy - put everyone to sleep until they cry uncle. Bernie is a gentleman. Nice guys finish last.

Clinton is status quo and status quo is what the status quo wants.
