The Bern comes short. People are talking he needs to start thinking of not damaging Hilary for the general and go easy on her.
Give me a break. If Hilary wants the millions of voters that voted for Bernie, she better start making deals and winning them over by taking seriously what drew those voters to Bernie to begin with. The Bern needs to continue on the same path fighting for what he believes in. Clinton and Bernie agree on several issues, but on the very key issues, Clinton doesn't believe anything that Bernie believes. If I were Bernie, any deal should be done contractually.
The big mistake Clinton will make is that democrats will eventually vote for her. That is horribly false. More likely they will stay home in a general. Everyone will tell you that is wrong and immature , but it is important to stand your ground. No deal, no vote.
Take the steering wheel off and make sure your opponent sees your throw it out the window.

How do you "make deals and win over" people who find you utterly corrupt and loathe you because of it?
The new blood that Bernie brought to a boil will stay home. How many of his supporters fall into that category, I don't know. The true believers will come out for anyone with a D behind their name, just like the repubs will vote for whatever republican when all the dust settles.
Should we see a Hillary vs. someone other than Trump ticket, voter turnout will be historically low. Trump vs. Sanders would have been astronomical turnout.
