another red herring from piezoe... Not only did the wall street journal tell you the regional fed banks are private...

I suggest you base you opinion on who decides who gets the trillions of dollars they print up without any control from the govt.

The banks get to create trilllions of dollars with computer keystrokes and then distributes the money whereever it wishes.

Do I really care how they account for profits when they buy virtually valueless securities for close to market value to help out certain banks?

It is incredible to me just how untouchable defense spending is in this country. Instead of proposing to tax as hard as Bernie does (which given what he plans to spend it on doesn't terribly disturb me), he should be instead or at least in addition to, be proposing to reduce about $200B a year from the $600B defense yearly budget, and redirecting that money to the same programs he is suggesting.
