Fair enough. There is precedent in Conservative thinking on responsibility. Conservatives years ago wanted to legislate parent responsibility for actions of their children, for example.
If your child does something to another person, parents could be held liabile in a civil suit. I think guns should have the same chain.
You buy a gun and it is registered. If a gun shows up in the streets then you have to pay. It forces you to be more secure with your gun I would think. Keeping it loos ein your car or home and it gets stolen is negligent gun ownership. I aint worried about the licensed carrier with a good head on their shoulders. I am worried about the fucktard who loses guns or re sells them with no care about where they go.
Same goes for gun dealers or manufacturers. If you build Ar15s and they end up all over the streets used for crime then something needs to be done because the chain of ownership is not being protected.
