The Before The Bell Calls w/ TraderBrad

Quote from Richard England:

What you are trying to say was that LBR had some good pattern that you couldn't pyramid the contracts up to whatever level you were comfortable with and make buckets of money? $1,500 to $2,000 wasn't sufficient to do that?

I've watched LBR trade more closely than you can imagine and quite frankly, after she got rid of whoever made her morning calls or visa versa, she has performed quite badly. She doesn't even post anything in advance on her site anymore- that's how bad!

In the room, she would make these "trade alert" trades that were strictly rookie calls (a flag formation, for instance) and then if she was successful (about half the time) she'd run like a little girl with 2 pts. Whenever she ran, the market would continue for a much better gain. Pros don't "run" with 2 pts. She traded with minimum 3 pt. stops-sometimes 5, also (which means she has no clue in addition to poor money management). I don't consider her a Market Wizard in the company of Rich Dennis, Ed Seykota, Bruce Kovner, etc. etc. I see no evidence she's made it like them. She's another "teacher" is all. $300 a month times a hundred students would make your TraderBrad drool! I'm sure that keeps her horses fed quite nicely.

My advice to you and you know what that's worth, is to stop playing the victim. Settle down to one strategy that's your own and forget about all these people, who if they were "for real" wouldn't give you the time of day- let alone disclose a shred of info you could actually use. When I lived in San Diego, I was looking at 12 custom houses being built on the ocean. The real estate guy happened to mention that one of the houses I was looking at, was already sold to this retired commodity trader from Chicago. I went up and rang the doorbell of this $4 million house and when I told him I heard he was a commodity trader, he slamed the door in my face before I could finish my sentence! We KNOW he was successful because I was told he paid cash for his house. See? What kind of mansion did you drive up to, to pick up your manual for $4k?

Even big commercial hedgers go thru a myriad of faints and ploys to hide their true positions from the floor even though few can play in their league because no hedger will last long if the best he can do is just hedge.

As far as Brad Caldwell not delivering what was promised: FRAUD, samson77, FRAUD. Show that he INTENDED to defraud you with misleading and FRAUDULENT claims. I hope you are taking screen shots of his daily "movie"(which you relied upon) and recording the audio for small claims court ( which I disagree with btw- you should sue him in a higher court for huge damages and triple punitive damages which would remove you from small claims- not too late to re-file in higher court, you know).
Good luck to you Samson77. I wish you the best.

Thanks Richard your advise is WELL TAKEN.

At this point "Thank God" my trading has turned profitable again and to be honest with you ... I really just want to get on with living my dream of being a professional trader.

I mearly started this post for the sake of others ... so that they could see all the facts (both sides) and decide for themselves.

If I do retrieve the money in small claims court it will be more of a moral victory for me than anything else and I will probably donate allot of it to charity anyhow as this experience has been a lesson learned.

cool story about the alledged succesful trader, HOWEVER, my experience has been vastly different. having met and conversed with several of the world's top traders /money managers, i have found ( without exception ) a humbleness and a willingness to help others learn the craft.

perhaps the gentlemen you had the misfortune of attempting to meet was hiding from the SEC or worse. maybe it was just a bad day, who knows ??

best,

surfer :)

Surfer thats so funny because that's exactly what I was thinking... :p

Like you my experiences have been the same I have found that the most successful are usually the most forthcoming and kind.

Marketsurfer: It's the CFTC that the real commodity trader would be concerned with- not the SEC, but you knew that. It's a true story btw, I was dissed by this commodity trader whose name I don't even know! Just a nameless guy- what can I say?

Why don't you share some of the wisdom from these people you've met. Please be specific about these pearls of wisdom and name names, okay? Any problem with that? Has it helped your trading?

Samson77, after I tried to help you, you doubted me, man? I tried to set you straight. I've learned my lesson, believe me, it won't happen again. You know what they say? "no good deed goes unpunished" Look, I've been accused of being you- accused of being Aneas(sp?) so why am I surprised? BTW, if I was you, I'd be fighting the urge to do myself in or at least bang my head against the wall until I couldn't remember anything I did. You're a grown man not a little whining boy!

I think I'll stick with chit chat- I like the people there- they are real and they have pictures. There's no pictures here.

"I've just deleted this website from my computer. That should help most of you "stay" your present course. (there is nobody behind the curtain). See ya!"

Just couldn't stay away, could you?

I have know ideal what your talking about?

Dude your taking this ALL way to seriously... this is only money.

I have made 5x what I lost to traderBAD since it has happened because my trading is back on track.

I don't give a damn about the money.

It's about doing the right thing.

The only one that is whining is you.

If you have your own beef with traderBAD be man enough to come right out and say it.

Samson, haven't you figured out yet who "Richard" is?

Sorry db I'm not really paying that much attention to this thread anymore but No I haven't LOL.

What am I missing ?

CLUE ME IN Please :)

Let's just say that it's an alias. Like talking to somebody on the phone long after they've hung up. Depends on how you want to spend your time.

to break my addiction to ET I have to go cold turkey with the exception of the chit chat forum which is great.

Like I stated before, I don't think there is much constructive trading going on here and I believe, anyone would be foolish to "share" what has taken perhaps years to develop unless they knew it wasn't going to last. IMO, this is not selfish- it is the way of the world.

Nevertheless, I like the chit chat so I'll stick to that area as my way of clearing my head of all this nonsense.

BTW, I sent dbPhoenix a private message with a challenge since I'll be in his area for a couple more weeks.

Samson77: NO I did not lose any money to TB- you have my word on that. I just don't like- make that hate, scammers and erroneously thought I was doing some good by also coming out against him- certainly too fanatical for sure! Rest assured, I've learned my lesson and have returned to my selfish little world where the two things I do keep me quite busy most of the time.
