The Before The Bell Calls w/ TraderBrad

Quote from macal425:

Completely wrong. Moderators are volunteers and have no financial interest in this site whatsoever. I don't know Baron and have exchanged perhaps 3 PM's with him over the last 4 years. If he were to "tell" me what to do in order to "make money" he would be told where to go, politely of course. If you try looking around this site, instead of just hanging out in this thread with traderbrad, perhaps you will see that there is a lot more going on with some "real traders".

PS. In the interest of full disclosure, Baron did send me a T-shirt once as a token of his gratitude.

Richard I have to agree with the mods on this post Baron is a very fair and honorable man IMO.

I have made many excellent contacts in here and some of the other members have helped my trading enormously.

One of the very first things that I did before Buying the traderBAD stuff was come into ET and do a search on him.

It came up with nothing at the time but if it would have, I may have saved myself all this grief.

By the way where can I get a T-shirt :)

Let me add my two cents: I don't get paid. Baron's single guideline is that only paid advertisers get to promote their services. I have no problem with that, and actually consider it resonable.

I help Baron because I find he is running a helpful site and that I have learned from the people Iv'e met here. This is my way of returning the "favor".

Vikana - is traderbrad a paid advertiser?

Quote from Richard England:

The true purpose of this site is to make Baron money unfortunately. Actually, I find it poor entertainment but it is addicting, so I need a twelve step program.

I was stupid enough to believe serious people traded serious money here but I was wrong. It's all about the money. That explains the bias of the moderators- they are doing what they are told to do- make money. What other logical explanation is there?

Just answer me this: why would a serious site permit this sort of thing? and don't give me the "free speech" thing.

To me, making money is serious business. I always resented people who say they "play" the market.

Isn't Elite Trader just a misnomer?

Yo Richard......

I see you're up to 25 posts now. If you REALLY don't like ET, why don't you just pick up your ass (and your mouse) AND LEAVE?!?

Which is why I keep asking why non-advertisers are allowed to promote their services. So far, nobody's answered the question.

What are we working on now? 200 posts on this thread?

I told TraderBrad he could post his picks for a week or so as long as he was willing to endure the scrutiny of his calls.

Quote from dbphoenix:

A. He may have been given permission to post his calls, but not necessarily here. If all he's going to do is post calls and solicit his services, then Journals would be the appropriate venue.

B. The "heads up" on the "real stuff" is what I'm talking about, assuming that "real stuff" includes prevarication.

C. The "complain" link is pointless if it takes a day or more to delete the post. By then it's old news. You guys don't seem to grasp the fact that you encourage this nonsense by doing nothing about it. If all this had been moved to ChitChat when the subject matter became clear, it's less likely that there would have been so much escalation (since so many fewer follow ChitChat). But even if the escalation had occurred anyway, at least it would have been someplace other than the Index Futures forum which, one assumes, contains information that one might actually want to read.

Of course, if two moderators isn't enough, try three. Or four.

A) I will not dump a controversial topic on another moderator just to get it out of my hair. You are like the forum mother...how about becoming a moderator and fix it the way you want. If Magna wants the thread, I will transfer it there. But since TB is trading index futures I do not have a problem with it. Besides, that will not fix anything, people will still fight with each other.

B) I got no complaints about this thread...not a single one, even from you. And I always "fix" complaints within a day (unless its the weekend and I am away), even if that result is no change (some complaints are unjustified and I have told you so).

As the other moderators have stated...this is a voluntary position. We do our best and if you don't like it then that is your cross to bear. Baron has never once told me what to allow or not allow (other than the rules of the website, agreed to by all). I asked for clarification on this thread and he said to allow the discussion to continue so TB could try and redeem himself. To my knowledge he is not a sponsor.

We have been through this before db...why the need for a rehash?

LMAO
Baron is a kool dude

I don't believe he's a sponsor. If he were, his "subtitle" would be e.g TraderBrad and not Junior.

I was making a general statement of the guidelines. The moderator of the Index forum would make the appropriate judgement calls.
