With Hurricane Harvey relief funding hanging in the balance, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made it clear: something had to be done.

“If this isn’t the definition of an emergency, I don’t know what is,” McConnell said.

But making a deal with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)? McConnell did not seem thrilled by that prospect.

Nevertheless, President Donald Trump persisted and abandoned the GOP to make a deal with Democrats to fund the government for the next three months, avoiding a shutdown.

McConnell acknowledged it bluntly.

“In the meeting down at the White House… the President agreed with Senator Schumer and Congresswoman Pelosi,” McConnell said.

Do you libs ever get tired of Colbert? He's such an obnoxious little tool. Like the smart ass kid who was so small that the other kids couldn't even beat him up because it wasn't fair.
I wouldn't mind if he was occasionally funny, like Jon Stewart was years ago.

Trump caved pretty easily,second time doing so.I wonder if conservatives ever asked themselves how will Trumps personal businesses be effected by a shut down or debt default ? What about his billionaire friends and associates like Carl Icahn or his Russian financiers

Colbert is 5 foot 11 inches he says. That is not huge but a fair size.
