Arizona audit: Senate continues fight to keep Cyber Ninjas' records secret

Arizona Senate President Karen Fann and other Republicans in her caucus are fighting to keep secret the records of the 2020 election audit they are directing despite a judge's order that they "immediately" hand over all communications related to the effort.

Fann, R-Prescott, Sen. Warren Petersen, R-Gilbert, and the Arizona Senate filed a petition in the Arizona Court of Appeals on Wednesday in hopes of overturning the order.

Their attorneys, Kory Langhofer and Thomas Basile, wrote that the Superior Court judge's order is "an extraordinary incursion into the sovereign affairs" of the Legislature. They also continued to argue, as they did unsuccessfully in a lower court, that the records held by the Senate's contractor, Cyber Ninjas, are not public.

Kemp previously decided that "any and all" records with a "substantial nexus" to the audit are public records, including all communications related to planning the audit, policies and procedures of the audit and all records disclosing who is paying for the audit and how much is being spent.

Arizona Democrat Caught on Audio Seeming to Admit to Child Molestation, Now Faces New Felony Charges

Arizona Democratic State Sen. Otoniel “Tony” Navarrete of Phoenix was arrested on Thursday for allegedly sexually abusing two young teenagers over the course of several years.


“Navarrete, 35, was booked into jail on suspicion of charges that included three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, and one count of molestation of a child,” Fox 35 reported. “He made his initial court appearance on Friday via iPad due to him having COVID-19.”


According court filings, a 14-year-old boy who lived with Navarrete is one of the believed victims. One of the molestation incidents is alleged to have occurred in 2019.
 
Maybe, we can finally, get this Arizona ballot audit moving again with the Arizona Attorney General getting involved in the investigation. These Maricopa officials if they have nothing to hide should simply comply with the subpoenas yet, the refuse to do so? Funds to Maricopa county should be cut off to end their obstruction and waste of US tax dollars. This audit would be all over if they merely, cooperated.
