The APPLE Crash

Quote from atticus:

3G cannot approach 14Mbps.

As I said, the network is setup for 4g, so I get the higher speeds. Just checked it now: 9.87.

Honestly, this is a bit of a confusion for me. When I search Telus for 4g enabled phones, I don't see my phone. That's why I say the phone itself is only 3g enabled. However, the network itself is setup to support 4g devices.

The Bose QC15 headphones are awesome no matter what the device. And can create a perfectly quiet environment.

No highs, no lows? Must be Bose.
B.O.S.E = Buy Other Sound Equipment

FWIW, I have owned the Bose and anyone who has a passing audiophile interest quickly realized how utterly shitty they are.

Buy some Sennheiser HD25s. Far better, cheaper and portable. Isolate better w/o the lame NC circuitry.

Now its only 6.6. It seems to vary a lot.

Quote from bwolinsky:

The upload speed is what matters, and that's within 3g land between 1-3mbps.

I don't think upload speed is the determining factor in Ottawa, Canada.

I've tried several different providers and they all try to limit my upload speed to between 1 and 2. Here's my home network speed. If upload speed is the most relevant, I guess I should be relying on my phone. :D

Private networks here all seem to have a limit of less than 2. You have to get a business plan to do better than that.

Edit: Having said that, thanks to the new pricing rules that came into effect last month, all of this has changed again. My cable network is limited to 1, but the highest price option with DSL offers 7. I changed this 3 months ago to what was supposed to be a faster network!!! Arrrrrg!

Ongoing topic dilution and thread hijacking by the stalkers.
Such overt trollery is very revealing ...

Like Nine_Ender and his sockpuppet multi nicks, bwolinsky repeatedly conflates TA analysis/commentary with actual trades.
This demonstrates intentional malicious conduct and/or appalling ignorance by bwolinsky who has no TA knowledge.
I never made any AAPL trade recommendation - short or long.
Are his broker clients or the SEC aware of this appalling conduct on public forums ?
Disclosure: no AAPL position held.

Brokerage / management fees / commissions...
Stockbrokers / investment advisors...
I'm not interested in semantics.
We all know how brokers / investment advisors obtain income and it's not from trading their own account.

Please note I did not initiate conflict with bwolinsky.
bwolinsky is solely responsible as he/she chose to troll my threads and stalk me.
This fact can not be disputed.

MY RESPONSE:
I don't like to be threatened.
Why didn't you tell Nine Ender to stay away from my posts a long ago ?
He initiated all the conflict by trolling and stalking me - as he has done to other members who got fed up and left.
Does ET condone stalking and thread hijacking ?
NINE ENDER INITIATED THE CONFLICT.
NOT ME.
FACT.

Having responded numerous times to this imbecile, he is now on ignore.

I don't make performance based compensation unless I make profits. Though I earn fees, I do not earn commissions.

Quote from Xena:

1) One has to realise that Apple only had one (1) succesfull product on which all is based. And that is the iPod with iTunes.

2) mobile phone manufacturers started to build in MP3 players......

3) iPod sales stayed static / diminished....

4) Apple realised they had to get into the mobile phone market....

We've had Motorola, Ericson, Nokia, RIM all having their heyday with mobile phones and none really survived.....

Will Apple is the big question.....

All their other products are only a small part, the iPad is partly a fad and not suitable for serious work. It's OK as a reader or web browser or picture viewer but seriously for work? It is a consumer product.....

Sony had the walkman and cornered the market, we also had the mobile CD player and the mini CD player having been all the rage....

Consumer products are fickle.....

Now I give you this to think about:
a) RF affects the T-cells in the blood.
b) Your microwave oven uses the same radiowaves as your mobile phone to cook your food.
c) Although the Telcoms industry says that no cancer is being reported in people using mobile phones a lot how about those that are frying their brains? One does not notice it.....
d) There are reports that the brain/tissue damage by mobile phones may in 20 years to turn out worse than smoking.....
e) do you stick your head in a microwave oven every day and turn it on? Why use a mobile phone then? Have you read the recent safety disclosures telling you to keep the mobile phone at least 1.5 cm from your body? Gee, wonder why....

Apple is focussed on making everything wireless and they behave like Microsoft did at one stage (like a bully). I've recently pulled some Apple gear apart and was shocked at the cr@ppy workmanship and lack of QA.

It is a given that sooner or later some technological change / development will have an end to this run and then it is everyone running for the gate. (what was Microsoft, IBM, <your favourite company> at its peak, where is it now?)

Perhaps the reason you don't understand fundamentals is you don't do proper research. IBM is at their all time high right now, a fairly steady up trend for at least 20 years. Some one buying IBM in 1980, 1990 or at almost any time would have made considerable money just holding and forgetting they own it. Dividends were additional free money.

They are the dominant player in their chosen area of business, after dominating in other related but different areas of business in the past.

No one can predict when a market leader will start losing market share and earnings growth ( note the word growth, its important ). However, in the case of IBM, they issue a long term forecast several years ago stating impressive earnings growth until 2015. So far, they've exceeded their own forecasts almost every quarter.

Truth is, many traders simply lose patience in investments like IBM. In fact, there was almost no better place to put your money for decades. This is one of the life lessons that some of us "old timers" have discovered and wish we'd been more aware of in our early 20s.
