The ACD Method

Honestly I would spend a great deal of time reading this thread. Especially the early stuff. There were some great questions asked over the years that were addressed on here that I think will help you nicely.

Thank you for your recommendation. I look forward to participating in the thread once I get up to speed on the method.

Is anyone running a line on CMG? It bounced almost to the tick on it's MAd today. It confirmed the QAd after earnings in mid-Dec, but if you do a modified QTR level around the day of it's earnings announcement, you'll find that it likely bounced off of your new modified QTR level as well. Top that off with their recent Ecoli scare and now I'm sure the shorts are trying to pile in...This might be something to look into...

Bounced nicely off the monthly and weekly A down too. Failed nicely at the last QTR A up. Something there for everyone!

USD/JPY nice early cycle confirm on the monthly.

Hoop,
I've got a -2/-2/9 (5NL/mNL/30NL) line on it, so sort of lukewarm. My count is not exactly the same as Mav's, but in the ballpark.
Having said that, I agree that the NL needs to be watched for a potential move up.

Thanks for posting that. I don't track Coffee anymore so it's good to hear when others get confirms in products I'm not tracking.

As a suggestion to others, feel free to post your 30 day confirms. We all don't track the same stuff and regardless of how you score your number lines, I find it very helpful to know what's confirming or what has confirmed.

Mav,
This is my list of stocks with a 30 day confirm. It's handicapped and includes only stocks with a 5 NL of 5 or better. As mentioned in my reply to Hoop, my count deviates from yours somewhat, but probably still good enough as a starting point.

And these are the bad boys with a negative 30 day confirmation and high negative momentum (5NL -5 or worse):

CVC
GLD
STRP
UNP

UNP is about to break the monthly A Down, so it'll be interesting to watch; maybe fade the retrace to the A Down?

Good stuff sir. Are you keeping the NL's by hand or have you automated them?

Robert,

EMA, and channel lines are useless. Think about it for a second if there is a buyer in this stock that thinks its undervalued are they going to say hey wait a second it's close to its EMA maybe we should stop buying? No if they think the stock is worth $50 (hypothetical) they're going to build their position. Same thing with channel lines you're being fooled by randomness and human nature that wants to see patterns in charts. I've done a ton of work on this stuff and it's all useless. The only thing I've found to work is psychological round numbers that act as support/resistance. This has been my experience when it comes to stocks maybe others can share their thoughts when it comes to futures/fx

I clearly wasn’t clear DT3. Some posts back I pointed out that my Sector ETF (XLE) had turned positive. Given that the Sector was positive and your NL for RRC was positive, the question was (or interesting part for me) "will it break through all the “obvious” TA resistance and run".

Thanks for the input on round numbers. Appreciate it.
