Many many pages back on this thread I put out a theory as to why I think this is and why this persists and it centered around the idea of the amount of hedging products out there now. You have all the vix products shattering volume records, the inverse etf's, the weekly options, etc. I really think people are just over hedged. That is why when we get these scary opens the market bounces back so fast because those hedgers became natural buyers of the market in massive size.

damn, it's been a while since I've been on here. Glad to see this thread is still going so strong. No clue how Mav does it. He's probably repeated the same concepts 100x on here since the beginning.

I'll do my best to follow along more closely and try to offer some ideas out there from time to time.

Yes, the bus may be a little full but that hoary old trade is still making me money. :D
