The ACD Method

TLT just joined the party intra-day. A up. That thing is nuts this month.

(not the best of news for equities I would think, but I'm sure I'm wrong)

let me know when BMY runs out of juice. I have a small position(400shares) and have been waiting for the current run to crap out to sell some calls. Fair dividend so I am not going to sell outright, and wish I had added to, but was grabbing other stocks on a plan that involved a weighting of purchases. We will see how that plan works out.

Market is looking weak here and still consolidating. Most sectors in the red...In some MA for the C-down right now.

What does everyone think? We get some weakness into the close?

Kinda feels like that. Maybe a weak afternoon, weak open tomorrow setting up for Turn-Around Tuesday?

I only say this because we seem to be unable to make the monthly A down in the S&P so it seems like the rubber band has to snap back at some point... right?

Why, do you have a Monthly A down? I don't follow the futures, so not sure if that's below Mav's level?

I was looking at 120.19 in the SPY, (right about at my weekly 119.79)

Whew,

Ok, gotcha. Thought I'd missed something on the macro level. Thanks for clarifying, much appreciated.

Quote from gmst:

Which futures contract would you trade if you want to trade SP500 financial sector ?

Futures on XLF, has a very wide bid-ask, zero volume today. Worthless.

Futures on SP500 fin sector underlying IXM, volume of 7 contracts today. Again useless.

So, how do you express that SPY/XLF pair, other than trading the ETF itself. If you are not trading prop, won't the small leverage available as retail be a problem ?

You can only do this stuff with the ETF's, not the futures. Yup, spreads are a no go for retail. Need to be prop.

Quote from Shanb:

Did you ever figure out how to calculate the ATR of the spreads, that way one can plot levels on them?

Not yet. Will work on that after the new year. Need to build an ETF database with historical data.
