The 2012 "First Debate" thread. Lets all try to keep this to one thread.

Evoked memories of Reagan, really? Either you're joking or you're getting old and your memory is fading. Or hell maybe my memory is fading. From what I remembered Reagan was inspirational and very likeable, even to those who voted against him, Romney is neither. And Reagan had a smooth slow delivery, would pause while speaking to let his point sink in and had a great sense of humor, Romney not quite.

Thank you for this post, brother Big.

Quote from Max E. Pad:

Has nothing to do with Intrade, my belief why Obama was a shoe in always had to do with the fact that the media is simply far too corrupt for Romney too win.

Look at the amount of time they have dedicated to the Romney 47% video, then look at how much time they spend on Obama's racist rants that just came out the other day....

The other day i actually saw them talking about a poll where the number had went from 30 to 59% of Americans now believe that the economy is actually on the headed in the right direction. I think it was the same day that next years GDP numbers got revised downwards, after three straight months of jobs misses

Bottom line is the media refuses to cover Obama's fuck ups at the same time they spend a week on the slightest mis wording by Romney. The only way for Romney to win under these circumstances is if he neuters obama in the next 2 debates, cause thats really the only fair shot he ever gets in the media.

I gotcha now. I think the main difference is that I still believe there are enough of us out there with common sense that could still show up in November to turn the tide.

Common sense ain't what got us in the mess we are in today.

I suspect the common sense factor is outweighed by the free ice cream factor. :(

...Obama was lucky he did as well as he did given the massive failures he has experienced.
Caused is the word I would use... :D

There are two important questions which haven't been brought up:

1. Did the red carpet have a negative psychological effect on Obama?

2. Will Michele Obama no longer feel like a real American if her husband is booted out of the White House?

Quote from Lucrum:

Exactly what several here have been trying to tell the Obama loons for months.

At least one candidate has a contingent of loons. It's a pretty poor state of affairs when one candidate's overwhelming source of support is a dislike of the other candidate. You for example, would vote for a bedridden stroke victim on life support if he were the Republican candidate.

And Obama seems to have a small but fierce group of defectors this run around.

Oh Lucrum dear.........VIVA LAS LIBTARDS!:D

Like the anyone but Bush crowd? That elected Odumbo.

You're gawd damn right I would, as it would be an improvement over the zombie we have in the White House now.
