Florida feels that the SAT is too ideological so they want a test grounded in Christian values… the irony is lost on them because they clearly weren’t very good at school.

The worst part of this is that the exam they want to use is basically not recognized by any college as being legitimate across the U.S except for a few small fringe Christian schools. It basically means that high school students in Florida will face a more difficult path at being accepted into any decent university.
We're just fine with sending our kids to universities in Florida, thank you. No vaccine requirements, either.
One day, Americans will realize that sending their kids to college is overrated and will get them nowhere except, being corporate slaves for life. That is on top of the student loans. Start a family business instead, and employ family members. Lots of tax deductions and if you have $100,000, that monies would be well spent teaching your kids, real life skills. The great thing, if you manage to start a good business, even your grandchildren can inherit it.
between this and them wanting to scrap Advanced Placement curricula, why would job recruiters even bother w/FL?
The American education system is not a Liberal or Republican issue considering the number of traditional red states and traditional blue states.
I've lived in both traditionally red and blue states. They all have similarities in their education ideologies except for the states that add more Christian values in before/after school programs.
Universities are not overrated unless someone is talking about a specific degree because some degrees require 3 - 4 years minimum. In contrast, every state in America has more technical schools and vocational schools than traditional 4-year universities.
Simply, America does not put all of its eggs in one basket (4-year universities). Thus, they see value elsewhere in the education system.
Last of all, the United States is ranked 3rd globally in the number of entrepreneurs. In addition, those entrepreneurs are ranked in the top 20 (not top 5) for their educational background. Thus, there are other countries putting more value on traditional college degrees than America although I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing for America.
