TEXAS & the 10th AMENDEMENT!

Quote from WTL:

Eight, while I dislike CNN and MSNBC, Fox News is one of the primary reasons the GOP went south. FNC makes the primary actors in the GOP that much stronger - social conservatives, military conservatives, ect. Remember the 2000 primary? Bush Jr was practically ordained.

Even though CNN was and had been liberal for many years, Fox news has been a net negative for this country. Now we have a completly partisan and political 4th estate. People depend on the press to get their news and when each cable network becomes the mouthpiece for a political party establishment it hurts those who actually fight for all the sort of things that are unpopular but good about this country - like the Constitution.

We need a Libertarian/Constitution-oriented news channel that doubles with American History content.

24/7 exposing Government abuses (current and past), policy developments in the context of the Bill of Rights, critical thinkers, profiles on the Framers (good, bad and ugly). Basically, the unsung history of America.

If the country goes under a North American Union, and later, a New World Order, then it should be with our eyes open.

As it stands, "truth" is whatever the media can get away with. 90% of media is State-Worship, spin layered on spin, and lies of omission. The media provides NO historical context or barometer to interpret current events.

Imagine if CNN were to remind us every time a new Federal Department is christened (like the DHS), the FEDs acted illegitimately under the 10th Amendment that reserves all undeclared Rights to the States.

People might actually get off their duffs, read the Constitution, and THINK FOR A CHANGE.

What would happen then??

I'll tell you what would happen. People would TAKE ACTION. And thats exactly what the FED's and their sycophantic lap dogs in media don't want!!

Quote from ByLoSellHi:

I think Rick Perry is already backing off what was an incredibly irresponsible statement.

I hate what Obama's economic team is doing as much as any die hard conservative or libertarian, trust me - but to whine and moan about it, and threaten to secede from the country is over the top drama queen stuff.

You have to stick with your team when times are bad as well as good.

I'd have thought Texans would have thought of themselves as part of the team.

Whats the point of staying in a Republic if the Federal Government no longer obeys the Constitution in which the Union was formed?

The whole point of the Union was to unify independent States around a common ideal.

The Federal Government (and in many cases, State Governments), no longer obey or adhere to those ideals they swore to uphold.

Whats happening here is a real grass-roots movement in defiance of an oppressive Federal Government in support of True Conservatism - defense of the Constitution.

Americans are finally drawing a line in the sand between love of Government and LOVE OF COUNTRY.

The Country IS the Constitution. Thats it.

Quote from Mom0/pH0x:

actually my statement was on topic, it was your statement about my "sworn allegiance" which was off topic... and sorry to inform you, but no once cares about your stupid ass media outlet suggestions....

It doesn't surprise me a Jew who worships the ADL, recoils from the idea of Constitution-oriented media.

Imagine the repercussions a non-interventionist foreign policy would have on Israel??! A nation that makes its livelihood manipulating American politicians for handouts! Oy Vey!!

See ya later, putz. :D

That is one alternative, and it might be the most readily available since I dont think the hyper-political media conflict is going away. No, Fox will continue to be conservative and cnn will be progressive. But ideally, they should have been merely investigative reporters. "we report, you decide" would be a good ethic if it were actually followed.

At least on the positive side of things, the younger crowd is open-minded. I went to college from 01-06 and I believe there were more "right-libertarians" there than any other political "clique". It was fun actually being the dominant group in classroom discussions.
