Texas says it found 95,000 non-citizens on voter rolls; 58,000 have voted

In the scenario where you get locked up for knowingly committing electoral fraud on the impossibly insignificant chance your vote swings an election vs the one where people are dumb and don't know the law, I'll choose the latter every single time.

Excuse me if I don't find a plea deal where you're deported vs locked up to pump up the electoral fraud statistics as a legitimate measure.

So if dozens of people in a county commit election fraud then it won't swing an election?

Well the exact claim in the 9th district Congressional district is that several dozens of voter fraud occurred and changed the election outcome.

If a few people or dozens committing ballot fraud can't swing an election according to you then it is long overdue that they certify the results of the 9th District race.

you've posted the statistics before...it was what, like 56 cases over 10 yrs?

Anyone who has gone through the naturalization process knows when they have crossed the threshold of being a citizen... his excuse that "he thought he was citizen" rings very hollow and sounds like complete BS (which is exactly what it is).

By that logic, all of these 95,000 green card holder are likely citizens now and this is a non-story. Why would they risk their shot at naturalization?

The secretary of state’s office in a Friday memo said it had identified 95,000 people on voter rolls that it suspects are non-citizens and sent the names to county officials to probe further. The state flagged the 95,000 by matching data from people who at one time had been documented as legal permanent residents against the state’s voter registration database. But what remains unclear is how many of those residents may now be citizens or if all the matches are accurate.

Beth Stevens, voting rights legal director at the Texas Civil Rights Project, questioned the accuracy of the memo from the secretary of state’s office. Stevens said about 50,000 Texans became naturalized citizens each year and it was “highly suspect” that the memo took that into account.

“There is no credible data that indicates illegal voting is happening in any significant numbers, and the secretary’s statement does not change that fact,” she said.

Stevens expressed concerns that the memo could “result in tens of thousands of eligible voters being removed from the rolls, including those with the least resources to comply with the demand to show papers.”

Yes, as I outlined earlier all the cases were settled by fine and/or probation ... and all the convicted were added to the deportation list.

His attorney can argue all he wants that the case "should be resolved administratively by allowing the defendant to finish the naturalization process.” The reality is the non-citizen is going to be deported. The concept that the person did not knowingly commit a crime falls apart when their plea agreement directly states that they confirm they knowingly committed a crime.

Witch hunt!

You right wingers have your priorities all messed up. You couldn’t care less about the 40,000 who died from guns but you want deport 19 people out of millions in North Carolina because they didn’t complete some paperwork.

This is a sham. The sad part is I don’t think you understand how much of a sham it is. I think you truly believe this is a major issue.

Again, we are talking about fraud at the level of millionths of a percent and virtually all of it is paperwork related.

A citizen who doesn't have an address...

You're talking about the homeless that live on the street? Everyone else has an address.

And now I'm asking you to justify the claim that elections are so sacred that we need to be secure them from non-citizens from voting, that it is okay to deny citizens their right to vote. And if so, where is the line to how many citizens should be denied to prevent how much fraud? GWB say's one non-citizen is enough. What's your number? And how does that number stack up with the actual statistics of election fraud...

How are we denying citizens from voting? You still haven't proven that we are denying people from voting. Putting requirements in place to ensure legal voting isn't denying people the right to vote any more than requiring a driver's license is denying people from operating a motor vehicle or requiring proof of age is denying people from purchasing cold medicine.

40,000 people died from guns? When? Where?

You left wingers have your priorities messed up. You want to leave our borders open so millions of people can pour over them. You could care less about all the U.S. citizens who are victims of their drugs and violence. Furthermore you want to make it easy for people to vote illegally in our elections by not enforcing any voting fraud measures.

This is a sham. The sad part is I don’t think you understand how much of a sham it is. I think you truly believe that the integrity of our election system is not a major issue.

Again we are talking about election fraud which has never been investigated properly for the last five decades in the U.S. Nobody can make any assertions if it involves thousands of votes or millions of votes until a proper investigation is done.

Well we have a litmus test coming up on your accusations that left wing minded persons want open borders, don’t we.

We know that democrats have already voted to increase border security by $25 billion and Trump turned it down. We will see what actually comes out of this committee.

It is time for the childish argument that a wall is the answer to be put to bed. Trump wanted the congress to give him $5 billion for a wall without any specifics of what kind of wall, where it would go or why it is the most effective use of money and you mob mentality types just wanted to give Donald Trump all that money without knowing where it would go or what it would look like.

Sorry, buddy, this is t a Trump rally. If you can’t even justify the cost or identify the location of what you want then it’s time to step back and figure it out.
