You aren't the Feds. Colorado and others have changed state law vis-a-vis marijuana. Federal law on marijuana is not nullified. Obama has chosen not to enforce Federal criminal law in cases of personal pot use in states that have legalized pot. But this comparison is totally irrelevant to the discussion at hand.
You are missing my point. You seem to think I am advocating acceptance of the Syrians. I am not. I am saying that its is virtually impossible for Texas to prevent settlement within the state by Syrian immigrants. Look at what is practically possible. Do you think Texas is going to police every road leading into Texas, every railway, every airport, to identify and examine border crossers? Or that Texas has the resources to do this? Or that Texas or any state can enact such policing?
The Texas Governor (whatever the fuck his name is) is making a statement that is not about
policy, but about gaining popular political support to pressure Obama to alter his immigration policy. It's not working.
Only Congress can make Syrian immigration illegal and prevent it. And whatever the fuck his name is in Texas is taking the heat off Congress by grandstanding for the ignoramuses with his empty threats. The fact is once they are in the country, they have freedom of travel. You don't seem to understand the difference between the repeal of law or lack of enforcement of marijuana law and the active enforcement of policy. They are worlds apart.
Maybe you do understand but simply wish reality were different, or that the ET echo chamber remain pure.

High Commissioner for Refugees is really behind the effort, and he´s referred an additional 5,000-plus Syrian nationals here. A new State Department report reveals that the U.S. already has accepted at least 15,000 Syrian refugee referrals from the UNHCR.

This whole thing is a Trojan Horse. Open-door immigration, open borders, and muslim mass migration is a 30-year, Trojan Horse, creeping takeover of the West.
