Come on. Its a Stoner Musk novelty act he thought up before blowing fartytwo bill on twitt just so he could expose his antisemitism in realtime worldwide. Can't wait for whats next - a ghettocruser SpaceX rocket?
I congratulated the presenter on X for coming around to the CT as I have. He was being trashed by the Musk groupies for having not believed the CT could even be built.
From my perspective and after hating the thing, I've come around to see that the CT is about the novel tech that was crammed in there. It's the future here today wrapped in an ugly but instantly recognized product.
48v electric architecture
Steer by wire
Pneumatic suspension
Stainless steel exoskeleton
3 motors set up
Speed, pull, lift, etc..
These technologies don't exist in pick up trucks today. Elon Musk (credit where credit is due) has moved the expectation bar forward and all the stagnant manufacturers will now be scrambling to implement these techs in their vehicles to stay relevant.
It's not an impossible task, but with unions swaying any and all decisions, it's going to be slow and costly.
That's what halo cars are built for, what remains is the sales figures....

Early day ... of the CyberTruck I guess you mean?Let's just see how many of these CT sell before making jokes about its future. You 2 were part of the Tesla is dead naysayers from the early day and proven wrong YoY.

Certain technologies don't exist in vehicles not because they're unachievable, many times, because it's simply nonsensical and/or cost prohibitive (hence implemented in halo cars). I get you're saying in pick ups today but automotive is automotive. Let's review:
48v electric architecture (meh, you'll save in copper but the real reason here is the amperage needed to steer 7000 lbs). OEMs have been pushing for a while to switch with weight and extra luxuries but discreet amplifiers and CAN communication has solved a lot of that problem. I personally would prefer us to horse shoe back to lighter/simpler vehicles.
Steer by wire (been done, most OEMs avoid it due to redundancy requirements)
Pneumatic suspension (been done, I like Magnetorheological personally but you get no lift w/them. 48v comes in handy on either system tho)
Stainless steel exoskeleton (been done, costlier, stiffer, likely nastier (nickel), crumple zones don't look promising)
3 motors set up (Is this supposed to be a plus? Rivian's got 4, Tesla's used 3 before, the real story here is using induction motors though I think VW was first there)
Speed, pull, lift, etc.. (acceleration is indeed impressive, I doubt it tows comparatively w/other pickups of similar weight)
