Tesla 2023

Elon is a "free-market" guy but only for him.

Especially hates subsidies and tax-breaks unless he gets them.
Wrong. Musk has repeatedly said he is against subsidies and tax breaks but if they exist he will take them. They are a market distortion like unions and rent controls.
I don't see Musk campaigning against USG EV tax break or German G tax break, CA, Texas tax breaks.... In fact he asked for...

Again, he is against market distortions, although it's easy to be when you are the clear leader, but will take anything the gov gives to all EV makers.

Meanwhile I seem to recall when Elon was going through his hell week or whatever it was he called it many workers were left in tears and left without a job. Yup he hates unions getting in the way of a good firing.

South Korean automaker Hyundai has joined Honda and Toyota in raising factory worker wages after the United Auto Workers union reached new contract agreements with Detroit automakers.

Hyundai said Monday it will raise factory worker pay 25% by 2028, matching the general wage increase won by the UAW during that period. Toyota raised factory pay 9% to 10% starting in January, while Honda said it will increase wages 11% during the same period.

Labor experts say the increases are at least in part aimed at thwarting UAW President Shawn Fain’s strategy of trying to organize U.S. auto plants run by foreign automakers and Tesla in order to increase the union’s bargaining power. Fain said terrified auto executives at nonunion plants are raising wages, and he called Toyota’s pay increase the UAW bump.

I thought he actively seek German and Chinese subsidies to open his factories there? He asked for them to open or threatened to go elsewhere?

We can keep going with the nonsense.... Give me one business with some leverage that won't try to get deals to set up shop wherever....

You may think it is nonsense but I believe character counts in life.

I am actually a fan of his, still own TSLA stocks.

Met him years ago when he was younger, just started SpaceX. We had great respect for him and his vision, for starting a high risk venture with his own money. In that line of business it was unheard of, reminded us of H Hughes!

I wish him and his companies well.

SpaceX is another example of whine and cheese boy Elon.

"Taxes are too high", but he gladly takes the check Washington (taxpayers actually) write for use of his rocket delivery system.
