Meh, not sure that's the reason. The news about Ford using the Tesla charger came out late Friday and was heavily promoted over the weekend. I think that has more to do with it.
It's not clear what Musk is doing in China, but I don't think it's necessarily good news. We know the CCP doesn't care about one's wealth or influence to assert their rule. They will be more diplomatic with non Chinese, especially Musk whose Tesla represents China's manufacturing know how to the world, but he has given public opinions about Taiwan and it could be that it's annoying the Chinese leadership, even if he has been careful not to antagonize them. It could also be that he is running a mission, either for our government or for Desantis to discuss political economic matters in light of upcoming elections. He also could be signing new manufacturing agreements too....

megapack and fsd are on his schedules. he owes his billions to china. he needs fsd approval.

don’t think he is messenger boy. and his is a south african, no one in dc would use him to deliver messages. and china is not that stupid to get involved in us elections. they have bets on both sides. but it is highly unusual to meet with foreign minister on a business trip rather than a commerce minister or shanghai mayor.
