massive drop in demand in the midst of massive over-supply...a huge new factory in Berlin, a huge factory in china, a second huge factory in USA (Austin)...
And probably the biggest factor not listed in your chart is that BYD is building a factory in Mexico (and also one in Europe) and has offered two models at half the cost of comparative Tesla models. And yes..there is a north american free trade agreement...which means americans can fly to any US border town..walk across and visit a dealership, buy a BYD and it drive across (dealerships are being built in Laredo, Juarez-El Paso, Nogales-Tuson, Mexicali and Tijuana-San Diego) . As Warren Buffet has said, BYD are amazing cars. Tesla will probably have to slash prices all the way down near the 50% point for a few years to compete directly with BYD in China, Europe and North America (BYD sells 5 times the number of EVs in China compared Tesla presently)
The BYD Tijuana-San Diego dealership is only 1 hour from the Cali Tesla factory. The BYD Laredo dealership is only 2.5 hours from the Austin Tesla factory.

At this stage in the US it's not a battle between brands but a battle between ICE or EV. The goal is to eliminate atmospheric (and noise) pollution from vehicles and there are powerful forces that will do all they can to not make that happen.
It will be interesting to see how many Americans will buy a Chinese brand car though...
Noise pollution from cars comes from the tires on the road, not the engines. This was evident in the 1970s, man. Remember the Godfather? The tractor trailer on the LIE while they were filming the Vito funeral scene in Queens?
Those sounds you hear in the background are the tires on the pavement.
I take it you've never heard a 4 in 1 Yoshimura pipe at 8k rpm ? It'll make the hair on your back curl up!

Rice burners do not impress me. What I am saying here is that noise pollution from ICE/EV cars is not the engine, but the tires on the pavement.
