Yeah. I am sure the freight trains that consume fossil fuels will be able to run on sun and wind, to bring those products to the trucks that consume fossil fuels which will be able to run on sun and wind, to get those products to the store, which are made from fossil fuels.

Can you imagine in 20 years telling a 10 year old that back in the days cars and trucks used to run on gasoline? Bet that kid wouldn't believe you.
No, I cannot, because in 20 years, cars and trucks will still be running on gasoline, or some other form of fossil fuel! We as a people consume too much energy to be made up by renewables! We are too greedy and too wasteful!
How many times have you gone into a room and seen the lights on, when nobody was in it?
How many times have you left the stove on a bit too long?
How many times have you seen waste of electricity all around you? Probably not much, if you never looked for it, but it is there, in spades.
The sun and wind are there, but they are fleeting. Weather.
But the fossil fuels are there, waiting. Because they are there forever until extracted.
It will take another oil crisis in this world to get people to get back to conserving energy. Otherwise, Wind and solar and wave energy and geothermal and spotted-owl blowjobs will not stop our desperate need, as a people, to consume as much energy as we can, and to waste half of it.
That's a positive outlook! In a world of supply and demand, behavior can be regulated with price incentives. Yes, I think oil and gaz will continue to be used for many years but primarily to power electric generators for an electric world and to some minor degree to power machines that cannot for the foreseeable future be run on electricity alone, such as ships and airplanes.

I'm a Tesla believer and did quite well from March this year day trading Tesla but sold everything following the 2nd S&P announcement upswing, which is still going on today. Unfortunately I sold too early, but at least I didn't sell too late. Because there is no doubt in my mind that soon Tesla shares will drop precipitously, first to low 5xx, then to low 4xx before settling. Even at that price Tesla will be overvalued but at least more in line with all of its ambitious goals.
