You need to convey that message to all the black athletes who are broke 6 months after they retire. Fact is there has been plenty of time for blacks to recover from slavery. Yeah, they got hosed but it's been far too long for them to keep using it as an excuse.

If you cut all the rags to riches anecdotes which are great stories because for the most part they are uncommon, you are left with people like me who got some help from their family on their first business or down payment on the first mortgage.

perhaps it's cultural. There is a strong Jewish tradition to always leave your children more than your father left you (and sometimes that means getting a reputation for being very very cheap (or frugal as I like to call it.))

and I blame Lyndon Johnson and the democrats for creating a Great Society of Black Single Mothers due to the perverted capitalistic welfare system that made it more profitable for a woman to marry the government and stay home and breed babies than it would be to rely on a husband to bring home a paycheck each week.

40 acres and a mule to every black man and we'll call it even. And then we will see who makes a better husband.

Excellent point, and who is at fault for the breakdown of the family unit in the black community? Their family structure was actually stronger when they faced real discrimination and racism. Since the passage of the civil rights act, along with numerous other helpful bills the black family has fallen apart decade after decade. How the hell is it that those who currently face far less racism and discrimination do worse than those who came before them? Figure that out and you'll find the root cause of the problem(s) that plague the black community. Many of us already have it figured out. Now comes the excuse making by the resident leftists.

yes, but the greatest way to build wealth is to pass it down through the generations to your children. Once that starts happening, it doesn't really matter where you came from or how you got here.

My parents didn't give me squat an I'm almost a millionaire before 40. It can't be done? Poor blacks? Boo HOO?

This is all victomology crap my friend. Anyone in America who finances an education in the skilled trades via a government loan and works for a living can build wealth relatively quickly.

Your parents were smart. So are most European parents. Black parents are usually pretty stupid. This isn't ur fault. Stop blaming urself. Life isn't fair. We don't throw acid on our faces to make ugly people feel better. The answer is for blacks to bring themselves up. Not tear everyone else down.
