I don't understand why terrorism has to be so complicated. What would happen if terrorist got a hold of several thousand rats, infected them with horrible diseases like the Bubonic Plague, terrible resistant strains of Tuberculosis, Ebola, Influensa, H1N1, etc, and deployed them in major cities?

I was being facetious.
I've often wondered myself why we're not under constant attack by all sorts of means readily available to the terrorists.
They could easily be stealing private aircraft by the dozens and crashing them into populated areas.
They could be poisoning water and food supplies.
They could be bombing crowded public venues all across America practically every day.
They could be shooting shoulder fired missiles at airlines (easily smuggled across the borders)
They could be blowing up bridges especially the smaller ones.
They could be kidnapping and executing at random.
They could be attacking malls with AK47's and the like, hit and run type stuff.
They could be randomly planting bombs under cars.
They could fire bomb grain silos.
Gas attacks in subways....
Either they're aren't that many terrorists within our boarders, they're not in as big a hurry for martyrdom as they'd have us believe or they're pretty fucking stupid.
I should have realized that these sorts of tactics have been used before, some natural and some not:
Rat Infestation
Rats in their millions infested trenches. There were two main types, the brown and the black rat. Both were despised but the brown rat was especially feared. Gorging themselves on human remains (grotesquely disfiguring them by eating their eyes and liver) they could grow to the size of a cat.
Men, exasperated and afraid of these rats (which would even scamper across their faces in the dark), would attempt to rid the trenches of them by various methods: gunfire, with the bayonet, and even by clubbing them to death.
It was futile however: a single rat couple could produce up to 900 offspring in a year, spreading infection and contaminating food. The rat problem remained for the duration of the war (although many veteran soldiers swore that rats sensed impending heavy enemy shellfire and consequently disappeared from view).
