Tell me your biggest win or loss

I am only remember one great memory getting big profit on SnB intervention few years ago, I made over 100% profit only two hours, but my bigger loss if accumulated might more than 500$ more
I hope i can do as well.

Largest single trade wins so far is $32000. Last year I had two of these wins of ~$32k. Largest single trade loss is $16000. I do short term swing trading in leveraged index ETF's.
Had to be a hell of a adrenaline rush, 16k loss had to be pretty brutal. But looks like the wins outweigh the losses by far.

One of my first trades in the S&P was back in Nov 1994. It was right at the close and I was placing buy orders and getting stopped out while on the phone. This was before online trading back in the day when the S&P was $500/full point. I had a BMI K-Band satellite and an account with Lind-Waldock. Anyway, I finally got an order in and the guy said it was "fast" market and he didn't know if I got filled or was stopped out. I always put in a MOC and a stop with an OCO. About 20 minutes after the close get a call that I was filled and sold MOC and made just over $3000. I kept waiting for a call saying it was all a mistake the trade was busted. LO
I am 42 before cell phones, and i have become so accustomed to modern tech. This just seems right out of the flintstones. I get so amazed at how people hashed out a living in times where news and tech was so scarce. And on the other hand most of the great discoveries where made before electricity was broadly popular. Its simply amazing how clever we are as humans.

1 Trade, called the perfect bottom, caught a very quick call it 200pt run up, YES, sat there going wild worth a lot to me +$4000 area, finally thought that's enough, went to the account errr orders closed, WTF, closed at a $1000 loss, errr margin hit, errrr ohhhhh I'd hit Short not long!!

Good times, great this trading :)

Some of you guys really take this stuff seriously. Play it real close to the vest. I suppose if I were a professional trader I'd be doing the same thing. I am not a professional trader, not even close, but I have dabbled here and there since the 90's.
First off, the vast majority of my money is traditionally invested. Just a Joe LunchBucket with a 401K that I do manage and shift positions as I see fit, bit it's all relatively low risk. It's been good. I also have invested in real estate and small business partnerships, although I'm completely out of the business angle at this point. Made some, lost some. End of the day I made a dime or two. Then I like to gamble. Sometimes at a craps table, sometimes in the stock market. So you wanna know the big lick in trading do ya'?
Late 1999, oh that was the friggin' wild west. In August of that year I took
I know if you where out on a 4 wheeler with me one of us would get hurt. You seem like a pretty cool dude. ( i barely broke a rib and rode 2 more days on it ) You can't quite just becuase stuff is broke. lol That was a pretty great story.

Yep, the universe hates me for sure LOL

Another 1, huge 200pt move, 10seconds before it hit ( by fluke ), had mouse pointer over close position, cat jumped up hit the mouse, closed it, NOOOO crap crap crap, bang news hit and too damn late :(

I hope i can avoid some of that. I have paper account with ib and so far its been very much the same. Navigating through the platform has been cumbersome. But its been fun and kinda of learning the system. But i can for sure see how you can invert the position from buy to sell. I did a couple of shorts and just had a hell of time making the system do what i want.

Thank you guys all for responding, it gives me a bit of hope that there some cash out there waiting for me. Some great stories from some real people rather than reading something from a book, i have come up with a few good ideas from all your stories. So i am very thankful.

Best of luck ringing the cash register...those sure were some awe inspiring stories maybe Jack Schwager will steal a couple for his new book..ha!
