Teflon Trump. Americans voted for the Country Ban. Polls won't give a shit. Watch.

Perhaps it is a feeling that Trump and his team are kind of winging it with little backup at the moment. Important cabinet posts are unfilled, leading to outrages like that crazy acting AG woman grandstanding. The immigration order had some glitches, as well.

We knew there would be all out opposition to everything he does and an organized effort to remove him from office. Even those of us who predicted that have been a bit surprised at the craziness involved. At the end of the day, I think it becomes self-defeating for them but it has an effect, kind of like a small child having a tantrum in a restaurant ruins the evening for other diners.

Interesting analysis, AAA. Thanks.

Just as an aside, I was talking with my wife last night, trying to get to the bottom of the feeling of unease I have in regards to Trump. I couldn't put my finger on it, and my wife asked me what - specific - action of Trumps I was uncomfortable with. I couldn't really pick much that I was so far dissatisfied. She then asked me what my problem was (she is a big Trump fan, but she's Russian, so she must be in league with him, right?). I came to the conclusion that it has been so long since a President shuffled up everything - I mean really shuffled up the status quo, that it was natural to go "whoa....what have we done?" Unsettled feelings are natural.

Actually, he's done what we elected him to do, so we shouldn't be surprised.

Yup. I know man. It's wild. I feel like we've all had Stockholm Syndrome. I think thats part of it. We're the beat down housewife who can't imagine things will ever work out.. And now it's finally here. lol

I can see where many feel unsettled by Trump so far. They don't recognize that regarding virtually EVERYTHING/DECISION/POLICY Odumbo ever did... he ALWAYS CHOSE THE OPTION WHICH HARMED AMERICA MOST!

Trump needs to go through Odumbo's polices "like crap through a goose" -- G. Patton... and UNDO much/all of Odumbo's anti-American evil... as best can be accomplished.

Odumbo was soooooo bad on sooooo many issues... fixing all of that feels like turmoil. But it's turmoil the country needs. The Lefties are wounded by all this, of course. They've been brainwashed. They may reside on American soil, but they've lost their sense of what it means to be "American".

It always impresses me how the right is willing to label illegals and refugees as law breakers but they're OK w/authorities breaking the law by implementing policy that's under a federal stay. So who's the real criminal?

That's all horseshit.

A federal stay overrides Federal law? And the Presidents Constitutional authority to block entry to any category of persons?

This is actually an interesting and complex Constitutional Law issue. The Constitution sets up three separate and co-equal branches of government, and provides each with weapons to deter or repel intrusions by the other branches. The Judiciary is notable for its lack of ability to enforce its edicts. it has to rely on the Executive Branch for enforcement, failing which, it can look to Congress to bring the Executive to heel.

Prudence and history teach us that the Judicial Branch should look for ways to avoid direct confrontations with the Executive. After the case of Worcester v. Georgia for example, President Andrew Jackson, who many compare Trump to, famously stated "John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it."

George Bush should have said the same thing after the Gitmo decisions, which clearly infringed on his sole authority to conduct foreign affairs and defend the country.

Trump has not defied these lower court rulings. They are temporary stays, not final decisions. If indeed the courts do try to infringe on his clear authority on immigration however, it may be necessary for him to tell them to take a hike. That would be called a constitutional crisis but in truth it would be the constitutional scheme in action.

It's Obama's DAPA all over again. Let it ride to the supreme court; that's the system we have, those who don't like it can move to Canada for all I care. But this whole "AG should bend the knee" is, to quote someone else, just horseshit.

We're not about to let terrorists stream in here for five or six years waiting for a Supreme Court decision. There is no real constitutional issue here. It should be resolved quickly.

Don't like it; GTFO out my country. We're not some fascist state that ignores the rule of law.
