With an IQ higher than Albert Einstein or Stephen Hawking, Ivan Zelich was always ahead for his age. But at just 17, Ivan and another teen developed a ground-breaking mathematical theorem which could pave new insights into the structure of the universe.

A 17-year-old genius has developed a new theory that could change the face of maths and help us solve some of the most complex problems in the universe.

Ivan Zelich, who reportedly has an IQ of around 180, worked with a friend to create a new theory called the Liang Zelich Theorum.

Mr Zelich, who turns 18 in July, said he still hopes to do a PHD in pure maths, which could lead to a career in the financial world with many of the banks using quantitative analysts.

He sees American mathematician, hedge fund manager and philanthrophist Jim Simons - who balanced a ground-breaking academic career with a successful financial career - as his inspiration.

Good for them...I wish them well.
Even though I am slightly embarrassed by their achievements considering I had to take calculus 2X in college, just to pass it with a C.

Math and I never agreed with each other.
